The Swedish hanks shown are what was marketed as NZ style hanks in Europe- referring of course to the Murray hanks made here for years, the European ones are not made of the same metal as the old Murray ones though -which could if carefully prised open be used again and again. I too have experienced the wichard hanks coming away from the forestay in very unpleasant conditions (flogging) and seen them hook other halyards --very tricky.

They came back hours later taking turns paddling in soft looking rubber duck, lucky the SW had not got up or they may have ended up cuddling challenger island or starting a new settlement on the Mokohinaus...

Yes Wheels is right re primer, just degrease carefully first, as an aside the old epiglass engine enamel was just the same mix as their Marinecoat ie single pot Alkyd enamel. Post cured nicely with the heat of the engine!

Not silicon!!, from memory Henkel is a polyurethane, one is more adhesive, and the other is more sealant--that would be the go with the deck prisms.

Sika did use to have a good glazing one 295UV ? Though you did have to use two expensive primers on the glass, but didn't leak. Lately have been using a Henkel product recommended to me by lots of boatbuilders, its great from Adhesive Technologies.

There are a few NZ citizens who left without saying too much in recent years, and were ok up in the pacific, of course they did not enter at Suva or any main port. However when they returned it got a bit tricky -mind we had a few spotters on the coast then, do we still? One I recall had his yacht on the grids (now gone) at westhaven when the constabulary came to call and dragged him away for questioning, not sure the result -I guess they released him as there was nothing to be gained.
