PIC INSURANCE BROKERS COASTAL ENTRIES CLOSING SOON!

Sundreamer's Coastal Had a few misgivings about matching our great performance last year in ideal Sundreamer conditions with a lighter downwind forecast predicting the lightweights would give us a hiding Got a great start at pace but fluffed the 1st gybe getting a wineglass and me letting the main halyard go. Quickly recovered and luckily the only error of the race. We held on downwind to be right amongst the 52's and only one 8.5 in front at the first corner but he broke at Kawau. In front was Vodafone, Taeping and Slime as predicted and we thought one other. The reach across Bream Ba -

Catalinas are great boats. I recall a Waikato one in the 80's sailed raced by a gun crew that cleaned up against some good competition. No slug with good sails and sailed right -
From hot water beach you continue west to where a swampy looking area meets the southern hillside. The hot pool is a short walk through the bush. The outlet to the east is a nice area. Be mindful of the rivers flow. If you're keen you can walk to a stunning waterfall.

Done a bit of sailing on Taupo. It's lovely, check out the Maori rock carvings on the way around to Kinloch. It can cut up very rough very quick so keep an eye on the weather. It's cold and fresh water reacts different to salt water. It's also very deep and there is (or was) quite a bit of weed that will make an anchor unretrievable in a small boat if you're not careful. First trip, I'd go for Rotoiti or Tarawera, there's hot pools

Peachgrove Bay on Great Mercury Island is mine. Sand so clean it squeaks, A stream to dam, warm lagoon for the little ones, and a pleasant walk to a waterfall and swimming hole.

Meanwhile on Sundreamer....... "sh*t that was close, he must have known what he was doing....." Clipper has it right, the least time you spend at sea, the less chance of anything going wrong

Why does Stuff continually add the words "Well Funded" when reporting on the NZ Olympic sailing team. All the other major sporting codes are well funded as well. The lefties don't like the "rich pricks in boats" do they? Todays line...."The real drama for New Zealand came in the women's races as the well-funded team went on a medal hunt." http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/olympics/83249081/rio-olympics-2016-nz-sailors-peter-burling-blair-tuke-claim-gold-in-49er-class http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/olympics/83336730/rio-olympics-2016-new-zealand-sailors-enjoy-triple-medal-day http://www.s

Started life as a demountable Tennant Bladerunner (as was Ultra Violet and Afterburner initially) and was meant to be exported but lived in a box for many years when first built due to some dispute or goings on. John got it going in the early 2000's and won a few Coastals in it and then spent the last 10 years refitting and turning it into a cruising boat with inboard pods but obviously still bloody fast Here she is in Coastal, probably 2001, we were in front at that stage but she cleared out soon after. Back then she was very simple and light, 3 sails, alloy rig. Nothing to do with Tw

If you own a boat and you're not a Coastguard member
