  1. Skinner's never going to live that 1 down is he!
  2. Something looks wrong in div 3 results, truxton 2nd on line? The finish times tell a different story
  3. When you see the boat in the above photo it's hard to imagine what they have been through! That is a seriously small boat and they would have been very exposed out there. After to speaking to someone who crossed the Tasman after the Hobart race and the Weather they faced it is hard to believe that little boat out there. In some ways that man needs a pat on the back but I don't know if I would put my kids through that no matter what the circumstances were!
  4. The stern is high! Was that part of The plan?
  5. With everything that has already happened, can't see this going ETNZ's way!
  6. I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure a 30hp outboard on a 22? Foot boat would be useless. Have seen a 15hp on a piedy before but that would be about the max. Shane maybe a 10hp or 15hp would be ok if the bracket was up to it but ur boat has a maximum achievable speed no matter how powerful a outboard you put on it, once you reach that speed anymore power will Cause cavitation and you will just be wasting fuel. Go for reliability not power!!!
  7. So are most of the crews back in NZ now? Any race reports or video coming? Would be great to hear how this race was for the sailors!
  8. 146 degrees now, must have pulled the plug and heading home
  9. Itchy Feet must have an issue now, o.6 knots and heading 117 degrees? Any news on this?
  10. How disappointing for those guys! Looks like a great race, everyone making excellent progress north!
  11. U should buy it, il do the bow for u! ????
  12. Odd forum to be asking about harmonics, I had a racing top harmonic for many years and cruised it from the bay of islands, all around the gulf and even a trip around great barrier, great boats and sail well too when set up properly!! Couldnt stand up in mine and I dont think a 6ft person would be able to stand up in many boats that size. You can pick these boats up very cheap but also there is one on trade me at the moment for 15K and looks very nice, alot of money for a 24ft boat though!!!
  13. Hmmm looks like rehabilitated is back on the gear

    Thread Gone

How about tapping the holes out and fitting bigger bolts, if there is enough access to tighten the bolts u should b able to get a tap in there !
  15. Looks like something else to break to me!!! In that video there was nothing that looked like sustained foiling and the conditions looked ideal for any IMOCA 60 so is it faster... Don't know till its lined up against another 60. Good to see the development though. Wonder if they could last a lap of the planet to make 2 days difference.
  16. Wow that's a wet boat! Is it really any faster with those foils? Looks like it comes off the waves a bit nicer but is it any faster ?? What do u experts say?
  17. Hi I can supply this for $23 a meter, located in pakuranga
  18. All Black supporters celebrating giving 3 points away that doesn't sound right!!! You must be an Australian. is that you jimmy ?
  19. Sailinhigh, True the teams do train in the same waters and gauge against each other I'm sure, but being the defender and sailing in the challenger series where points are involved is totally different. They could very easily have a convenient gear failure and give points away to a chosen team at a crucial time in the regatta. I think ( just my opinion ) that leaving this as a possibility is very un fair and unacceptable in today's sporting arena. I reckon part of the cup is not having a clue who is going to have an edge over who until the first top mark even then nothing is guaranted as
  20. My memory could be incorrect but didn't Alinghi try to have similar rules ie. allowed to sail in challenger series? Isnt that why Oracle took them to court ( not the only reason Im sure) and the whole thing got shelved for 5 years ? They might aswell write the rules saying that the Defender WILL win but you can come along and play anyway. Sailing in the challenger series is straight up cheating I reckon, the possibility that the defender could throw matches and effectively have some control over who they would be racing against in the Cup is rubbish. Going to be another tough 1 for T
