CarpeDiem 21
You need to have it room sealed (air in and exhaust out) plenty of boats use califonts, most don't meet the current regs... See https://www.burnsco.co.nz/shop/boating/galley-cabin-storage/water-heaters/gas-water-heater-10lpm How much gas does it use?
Island Time 780
Our 4.5kg bottles usually last 6-8 weeks cooking and hot water. So not a huge gas user...
Cameron 17
I recently put in a 15l Isotemp.... absolutely brilliant system. Heats up so fast. Very impressed. The boat has a compressor driven fridge/freezer... so running the engine each day charges the batteries, heats the water and cools the fridge/freezer all at the same time. As the engine needs to be run regardless it made sense to maximise what it does when running.
Adrianp 35
In 5 months of living aboard (for 3 people) with a Gas Califont and Oven/stove we used 1.5 x 9kg bottles.
Black Panther 657
Sounds right. We get easy 2 months per bottle 2 up
southernman 45
Has anyone seen this product? https://www.green-yachting.online/ . Basically allows you to change out the 230 VAC heater element in your water heater for a 12 or 24 VDC version and use excess solar charge. On the new boat i'm considering this as an option.
