I know I did last year Alternativly get your crew to car pool and park at Z pier, its only $20 per day and you can buy 4 days at a time. Mostly an unreasonable walk from the bus to the pier carrying sailing gear including supplies for the cruise back along with where do they get a bus when we got back at 1am? You could say they should stay on the boat but that the end of the day it's a marina to promote the enjoyment of using the boat. This is becoming less enjoyable when where to park a car is the major consideration. ex Elly, w44vi and Sabre

Yes but the problem with your argument is that it assumes that the decisionmakers give a s++t, when they so obviously don't....
straycat 1
Here is a take on how boat owners could recoup their marina space and costs... Marinas with well presented boats give a certain appeal and nautical character to a city. The boat owner bears the cost and burden of creating this scene for the city. We just need a legal representation to claim compensation But anyway, NZ has such a huge coastline, why dont Panuku or council take non-boating ammenities elsewhere, instead of encroaching and almost punishing the AKL boatie
KM... 836
Panuku is working in the best interest of those who have paid for Westhaven many times over and are currently one of the most profitable things the council rakes income from - YEAH RIGHT!!!! The new building being built, illegally, was going to have a cafe in it, that's OK one would have thought...untill this sign appeared there on Wednesday Up to 1000 people at once??? The place says it has 36 car parks on its liquor license application, even if that was true, it's not, that's just bullshit. And all your berth fees went up today. Do you get the feeling Panuku sees you are easy to extract a sh*t load of coin from ATF machines and nice quiet and compliant ones. They do regard you are easily played suckers and rich ones. There is Westhaven Marina Users Association )WUMA) AGM on Tuesday in the Ponce. It maybe worth you turning up and lending support to these fighting to keep Westhaven for NZers and to make sure Panuku gives the finger to yet more laws and allowable Westhaven uses. Like under the laws there are no commercial vessels allowed in Westhaven....yet. The list is far bigger than you'd even imagine could exist. Also bare in mind Panuku are working on 'If we can break Westhaven then all the other marinas will fold like soggy toilet paper'. They are right, if they knock Westhaven over the rest will fall in seconds so even if you're not in West haven what happening there is your marinas future as well. KM... 836
Some of the sh*t going down is f**king scary, way up there in the WTF? stakes, funny, sad and some just wants to make you smack your head into a brick wall. You'll love this reason for why your berth cost will have to go up again shortly, this is the very stuff we are dealing with and we doubt most have any idea this goes on when they really should. The Westhaven office team is the office team and the dockmasters team, both live in the house in Westhaven. The plan is the office team move into the new (illegal) building as their new home. The downstairs of the house becomes the new workshop (Westhaven got paid 90K by NZTA to get it's gear out from under the bridge) and the dockmasters new home will be upstairs in the House. That does make some sense and decreases their physical footprint a bit, can't be a bad thing. But why the berth cost increases? We've been told when the office moves to the new building as the lease costs of it are that much higher the berth holders will have to stump up and cover that. Basically the council wants to charge the council a sh*t load more for the council to use a council building. Or for those OK with math what's really happening is the council has found yet another way to extract even more out of you rich white prick 1%ers. That's just one example of the bullshit going on that we are fighting to try and stop. Another is the up coming thingy where the Council/Panuku is going to try and bully all the berth holders into accepting a change in what is legally allowed to happen in Westhaven. Currently by law only 2 commercial mobs are allowed in Westhaven, Penny Whiting School and someones else that's slipped my mind. But look around and how has the council pushed into Westhaven, a sh*t load of ferries, close to 10 times the commercial footprint that the law allows, piles of charter boats displaced by the AC and a sh*t load more. Currently that is illegal activities in Westhaven so the council is about to push you into retrospectively approving their actions. Ya know what? I think they will manage to do it and do it with ease due to to how apathetic most of you are. That could easily break Westhaven and many of it's users as private will be competing with commercial in an environment run by money grabbers who don't give a flying f*ck about you. Once they have broken Westhaven the rest will topple like meek dominos, that is their stated plan. The other marinas have similar sh*t happening not on such a big scale but nests are being feathered using your money.
