Round North Island, 2 Handed ---2017

Recommended Posts

KM, scored using base passage PHRF.

SSANZ gave themselves the option to move the division boundaries to fit actual entries into 'sensible' groups, but by the looks, boundaries are :

910 and above, div 1

865 to 909, div 2

790 - 864, div 3

under 790 div 4

Think they did a pretty good job with the groupings.

the grouping look pretty fair to me. evenish numbers in each div as well.  Nice work dark arts master.

Previously the range of the divisions was fixed but unfortunately we don't know who will enter at this point, which lead to only 3 yachts in div 1 last time.

Two of them turbo and one naturally aspirated

So this time we have gone for

Div 1, top fuel

Div 2, fast 40 somethings

Div 3, 35 or close enough family frighteners

Div 4, classic Kiwis

There are a couple there that we had to fit as best we could but the goal was to get even competition within divisions as close as possible so anyone can win there division if they sail well enough plus with 4 legs in different conditions the best sailed Yacht just seems to rise to the top for some lucky reason.

Thank you for the answer Mark.

I suspected as much and was just wondering where the splits were.

Activator, what a legend that boat is.

Doing 21.5knts, finished the leg in 23hrs and winning PHRF by well over 2 days on corrected time.

The rest may as well just pull the pin and head for the pub :)

Gezzz, if someone went by the tracks over the last few hours many crews would be being drug tested.

Are Mack and Tom motoring, what's with the straight line track??

Glen and Max must be a bit frustrated at the moment with looks like a bit of 2 steps forward one back over the last few hours.

   Not caught one yet looking at the track.

Not to shabby going for that team really, fishing yet still second on PHRF
