Been spending a bit of time down the bottom end lately during the week. Beautiful down there this time of year as vertually nobody around. Only 1 or 2 boats everywhere you go.
-
Just around the Gulf and maybe Mercs at some stage.
-
The problem with non compliant is that you would likely be uninsured if it came to the attention of your insurer.
-
Are you sure that's not the Greypower AGM?

Volvo wouldn't warranty my new engine unless I could pull manufacturers max RPM. Had to ditch my old prop and had them do the calcs and supply a 3 blade Volvo folding prop. My old prop would only max out at 2700 RPM so would have strained the engine. New prop max out at 3200 RPM as per specs.
-
I repowered with a Volvo as that was what was there and I figured better to drop similar engine on existing beds. Wasn't quite like that but am happy with the new engine. Done 173 hrs now and yes no fumes.

Had a 25hp isuzu in my Cav 32. Never missed a beat.

That's a shame. Used to sail there occasionaly when I was at high school. Jump on an old IA and go for it. Most of the time I was on my NZ Moth at Howick sailing club.
-
STB is a nice boat to sail. Sailed on it quite a bit as forard hand and did some two handed stuff on it. Can certainly get up and boggey and all simple systems. Can't think of any negatives.
-
That's a shame. We used to get 30 to 35 entries for the 2 handed 3 legged weekend but I understand the numbers are well down on that these days.
-
How many owners of boats in Auckland marinas belong to a club? Pine Harbour would be lucky if it is 30%. Maybe if clubs had a few more destination races so the crews can have a night socializing without worrying about driving. Not everyone wants just to race around the cans every weekend.
-
I'm with you raz88. For just around the cans the club does alright out of the bar. I know the club did well out of non member crews at the PYBC Thursday night races when I was a member there. Suppose it is the same now.

It's not as rear as you may think Crazyhorse. I do not like walking past the bloody things on windy days. Was on a site a few years back when a couple fell over. Big panic because an apprentice plumber was unaccounted for. Turned out he had gone to a site in town and hadn't signed out.
-
More restrictions, more hoops to jump through = smaller fleets.
-
Not good when tilt panels fall over. Work safe will be all over that site and so they should.
-
I don't race any more, but when I did, probably only half my crew would have been club members. I think that would be common practice with a lot of boats. It's hard enough to get regular crew as it is. Isn't that why short handed racing has become so popular?

Some interesting results. Looks like it was a bit of a lottery. Interested to have some feedback.

You would pay a bit more $ for a good Lotus 9.2

Good luck to all those doing the Coastal Classic. Looks like it could be a long day at the office.
-
Try western side of Ponui. Shark Bay has a good beach for kids. Might be down that way or Te Kuma.

I think the trouble may start at the other end.
