Not drawing any parallels here doc but you have reminded me of a boat I spotted in France recently . It was the first boat with black sails I had spotted out of the 100s of benes , jonnos , elans etc . I grabbed the telescope and glassed it over and noted it was a new J boat of fortyish something feet . It’s was being sailed solo by a gent in linen shirt and pants and what my son called “slippers” which seem to be popular over there with gents in moneyed circles . Solar king doesn’t have listed prices but states they are typically 50-55 cents per amp hour of storage capacity which I think would be $550 for 1000ah ? Hitek sells 48v 400ah for $7,400 each ! . The trademe battery is 80v 1000ah so some big variations in price

Mark do you know if Niksen is a 2nd hand import ? Have noticed that they come from the factory with very basic sails and no trailer . 2nd hand ones in Oz are asking 20k more than the new price which is pretty good considering they are fully sorted , extensive sail wardrobes , trailer , electronics etc
