Looking back through the last 5 years results there hasnt been a boat finish after 4:30... Even the H28 got around so you should be ok

  12. Give Bart at NZ Rigging a call, looks like the standard Fosters base most trailer trash i mean yachts used. He bought Fosters and has most of the castings.
  13. Propeller pitch is confirmed It is a 15x9 sail drive Prop
  14. Sorry have cleared the PM mailbox now. Certainly was a tidy 2002! Complete rebuild - pity about the Conrod that isnt so good anymore, or the block it went through! The rest of it though is in mint condition - was ready for another 20 years service!
  15. Hi All We have parts off our Volvo Penta 2002 engine for sale - long story short everything on this motor was rebuilt or replaced, but a slight engineering hiccup has now meant its been replaced - (Note engineering problem was inside the block so no add-on parts harmed in the creation of this!). These parts are off a Volvo Penta 2002, but will fit a 2001 (9hp) or a 2003 (27hp) - I would rather see them enable someone else to get more life out of their current motor than go to waste! We have: Starter Motor - Refurbished and purchased from Ovlov Marine 2 months ago - Could do with a
  16. What about one of these? http://www.speedseal.com/speedseal.html
  17. Yeah thanks guys - Fully aware of the google experts. Like Island Time we had a good innings from the Volvo Penta 2002 - had an unfortunate incident with it that has meant it met an untimely death - through no fault of its own at all! But now looking to replacement. Thinking Volvo again, but the Lombardini is 30KG lighter, and almost 4k cheaper... Nanni is out of stock for 8 weeks unless we airfreight - and im not missing summer! Beta is not much of a saving compared to the volvo which we can drop in the same beds - so pro's and con's both ways. We are mechanically minded so eith
  18. So - Have at it boys... Clean Slate install, assuming its a fresh hull and installing new beds, sail drive and everything - what would you put in and why? (Having ruled out Yanmar due to cost, Beta and Nanni for other reasons) - If you could have Volvo or Lombardini what would you choose? And what price differential would it take to change your mind either way? Looking for people's views on either motor, and experiences. - Looking at 3 cylinder 30HP for both motors through a Sail Drive. I have the pop corn out - go at it team!
  19. Being a ross boat they love weight in the ends. and you wanna sail bow down- so probably with a really really big nut and bolt? - This ought to do... Nice and safe for family cruising...
  20. And its PVC - So more likely the PVC tube chafes out.
  21. Oh come on do it the hard way! - Take it off and fair the roof - it didn't take that long - oh wait yes it did and was a right pain in the butt job - yeah Plywood panels would be the go! From this: Then this after ripping the front bum off, and hitting it with a grinder to remove glue etc. Then many many beers later with many sore arms, a bit of filler on, lots of filler off, itchy arms and a bit of highbuild paint...

    Race Ending

Respect to the Race Committee, other competitors and organising club? - Getting back to the club for a drink with crew so the prizegiving can be done with all participants rather than only the winner showing? Its a bit rough on the Race committee if people come race, then take off afterwards without returning for prizegiving or post match function...
