  1. Been missing for a long time, but the large concrete sewer is still there.
  2. Dont use graphite, use greasy hemp as people have been doing for hundreds of years, Chatfields sell it
  3. Poor old Waitangi, bouncing on the Orakei sewer for almost an hour, which suggests that the normal skipper was not aboard -and no one tried to scandalise the main to help get her off?
  4. Funny looking yellow boat in the middle
  5. Oooo er double over head furlers a Townson dinghy and that sheerline
  6. There should have been an anode on the Gori as well, and no split pins on saildrive prop! Yes whoever did the prop speed needs a talking to.
  7. Someone has fallen off the big C2
  8. I hope you are right DoT -however experience tells this is not so. Just watch the old fishing inspector shows if you need a reminder.
  9. Sail drive bits look ok, though the prop has been off for a while , if you want a good price for replacement contact me. I would suggest that the installer did not read the instructions, as some 'professionals' dont not far North of Auckland.
  10. Looks downright seaworthy compared to Sven Lundens last attempt at a slow death.
  11. Unfortunately BP maybe right about offshore cruising
  12. As above Fish, just extending the thread drift
  13. Referring to North Head, but they were paying for a lady to blow grass clippings to windward early Saturday morning???
  14. Yes and the council has painted slippery patterns on the road -then put up signs that you can only see when you are lying on the road to tell you to be careful not to slip!
  15. Dead right DP, and a large number of us on the wall at Westhaven and Beaumont st, watching the start plus the biggest number of spectator boats for a Mullet boat race that I have ever seen. Trubi came out of the first beat looking good but Martin Robertson in Orion was running him down downwind, then Trubi stretched on the next beat and away they went down the harbour on the wind in the fairly light, I believe because I wasnt there that Orion just got the win on the last leg so good viewing for all those old hands at the PCC. A pity some more of the L class around the country in sail
  16. Manecraft seals are dated and meant to be changed after 5 years -(which seems like 5 minutes to kiwis) If not leaking when static does it have a water feed ? and if so it may need reducing.
  17. MH is right Manson never had a licence from Simpson Lawrence, and further more their plough is a way different animal to the genuine CQR -the Trevco was closer. A genuine CQR with appropriate chain will work-just not as fast setting as the new generation lead by the proven and tested Delta -another Simpson Lawrence product. The Excel seems to be the only recent advance, I know enough about the genesis of the Rocna to say that I wont be using one.
  18. There are a lot of them out there so I would be surprised - but maybe

    SailGP

To put our guys in perspective, they are the absolute new boys-all others have practiced or competed before. Our boat was caught in the lockdown on the wharf and took a while to be released, the official practice day was cancelled and turned into a race day, give them a chance to get to grips with this exciting and close racing. The coverage could be much improved if they gave us a proper view of the start- but maybe that was on Sky (I watched on youtube) Yes I agree on the water - well actually everywhere wind should be in knots, and speed on water in knots -in fact they were tryin
  20. Yes I too had regular dealings with Bob and when I heard their last transcript i realized what state they were in.
  21. Many old PCC types getting excited, even taking on fluids in preparation for a big day on the water, though they have left it a bit late to compete in the mullet on head competition.
  22. Hell of a forecast to go fishing out off Bream bay with no lifejacket ?
