Yes XXXX does not do dangerous things in my experience, he was racing back to Auckland on Sunday I watched him start.
-
Something wrong with this post, not sure that it should be left up......
-
Over 2 1/2 hours by my watch, certainly liked your deck lighting.
-
Did your pet flying fish follow you home?
-
yes I would be looking for 6 knots ish at 3000 and being able to get near 3600 as she sinks into her own hole going a little quicker (gives you reserve for weather conditions)
-
Put MAXwax on available in a spraycan at most good chandlers - I got a year out of it, not quite propspeed but for your situation ideal. And yes you should reach maximum 3600 with all things being right - clean bottom etc etc. We require that to sign off new engines as the boats always get heavier bottom fouling etc and you dont want to put a modern small diesel into lug. Depending on the engine an older one can have a little leeway.

Take my hat off to him even if he did a Moitessier now

Ideal for the CYA regatta up here in a month or so, in fact there were a few Dragons entered three or four years ago.

Yep got them, but are stopping the storm anchor scratching my polished Kauri hull, rely on spinlock for my bouyancy

Oh no, Keith Manch the Wellington pin stripe suit wearing ex Policeman who is the face of Maritime NZ calling for tougher Govt backed lifejacket laws and penalties, also targetting specifically us regular long term boaties.... on National radio this morning.

Great weekend with the classics down at Patio Bay and sail back, only one problem - the uniform wearing team in the coastguards flagship steaming past at Maximum displacement speed off the wharves coming home, bow pointing to the sky jets revving- just sheer ignorance causing the biggest wake on the harbour, a shame these people have no feel for hull shapes and training about nuisance and efficient driving of their boat, closely followed by Tornado 2 . power cats are not efficient unless run at the designed speeds.
-
Thanks Fish that is fantastic footage, think I would rather be on the French boat, though HB may have been a bit over pressured with that combo up.
-
Yes I have been to Fiji when sailing a Piedy up would have been no trouble, doesnt mean a thing.

There is a reason why Swans, Amels, Hallberg Rassys are a little dearer than the yachts we refer to here, and why a Kiwi boat built our way costs a lot more too, its called built to last -not just for the first owner.
-
Happy to sit on one of my Kiwi built and glassed over kauri logs, no styrene smell or holding tank smell down below!!!
-
Shame for Riou I was picking him as a good long term bet, just shows how tricky it is and how lucky you have to be to keep it all together and make it round at those speeds.
-
Its not the only one, have a look round some other Auckland boatbuilders...

separate and water

I have a Kauri boat so definitely will not be bonding skin fittings etc, however I would just like to run a battery charger occasionally and use some wired in power points when I am on the Marina so was going to go down the track of an ewof and use a galvanic isolator (not already there from the previous 230V wiring). Will that not keep the 12V and 230V separate?
-
If you are considering being wired up permanently I would have thought a galvanic isolator is a must, to protect you first and the marina second, not sure why beacon want earth straps through the hull of a light multi though?

Sea Legs of the Milford Cruising Club, just finished the last two coastals, north shore boatbuilder Neil Beken has the glass moulds as far as Im aware. A good safe family cruising yacht.
-
Standard glass one finished the last two coastals with a very happy Bulgarian owner and crew.

When the Northland council dives on the hulls of cruise liners anchored off Russell then I will take them seriously, until then them and their square barnacles are just a joke, I can sail all around the bay and Whangaroa without ever going near a marina, and yes my hull is clean as I dont want any drag. -

With the current tight policy from Northland towards Auckland boats coming North, what is Aucklands policy towards boats from the BOI coming south with the new dreaded square barnacle -never seen before in Auckland?
