  1. I for one have softened-will be yachting in my carpet slippers tomorrow and warmest blazer, with a comforting pipe and salubrious claret at hand when we return to our berth.
  2. Standards have slipped old chap, particularly in the colonies
  3. In what shape or form are Northland Regional Council experienced practitioners in this field , the square small Opua barnacle is still travelling South in clusters
  4. Absolutely right there motorb , the plan is to bring piles up to virtually marina price and then say look no demand -and correct about the 2013 meetings and feedback.
  5. Thats hilarious because as we know -still wrong, its based on the ihi Shibaura tractor engine marinised in England at Perkins for Volvo and themselves
  6. Laughable reporting supporting a lucrative diving business, the BOI is full of it as are Auckland Marinas-it doesnt jump on to properly antifouled hulls. To really get rid of it you need to flush your marina with fresh water loaded with toxins as we do regularly at Wairau Cove.😏
  7. Umm Large yacht actually , he said all the right things and the innocent crew said all the wrong things.
  8. Best To enquire with Marine Diesels in Tauranga -they are one of the few with years of Yanmar experience.
  9. That is very sad, and the same person who was pushing for the closure of hardstand is the owner, his father who commissioned those last built boats would be appalled .
  10. It appears that Akarana have pinched this one off the Squadron, I guess they need some yacht racing with their proud history in tatters after this hardstand debacle , come on the RNZYS welcome the emmies back and consign Akkers to the history books.
  11. Very true IT, I am reminded of the unfortunate Northland Coastguard crash about 15 years ago when the crew carried on at pace but did not know where they were till hit NZ . The plotter on board showed an absolutely accurate course.
  12. The presiding judge's comments are pertinent
  13. Unfortunately a lot of the early reports from shocked people not entirely accurate , it was a 30 odd foot Boston Whaler with outboards not a jet boat, the ferry was left to sink where anchored after four hours no one knows why the coast guard who were there did not tow her a short distance to the shallows. The parasail guys sped the skipper in to ambulance at Paihia -he had two doctors on board. The white (happy) ferry picked up the passengers from the Blue Ferry, it sounds like no one was at the helm of the speed boat, very sad for the ferry skipper.
  14. Really I thought it was the operator who set the rates for haul and launch
  15. Good point HT , the boaties of Auckland need to show their feelings to Akarana, as they were just another council tenant but are now pushing out over all the reclamation
  16. Spencers sold the lease to Winton .....
  17. And of course the closure of the Pier 21 hardstand at a very similar time -a Spencer family controlled lease......
  18. Could be a Don Senior yacht, not sure that they were anchored, hope the people are ok.
  19. Good to see that they will be here Christmas -January
  20. Looks a lot like an Alan Young 29
