mischief 5
Maybe its still early for people, but 6 weeks out feeling like coastal entries are pretty quiet? 26 PHRF entries, 4 for short handed, 5 multis and 1 in the rally?
Kick Ass 49
We are planning on it but still trying to get sorted with Cat 3.

Kick Ass 49
Was thinking of giving you a call Jon. Would you come up to the Weiti Boating club or not your area?
Jon 395
Can go anywhere however now we get paid through YNZ I get quite a bit less per boat Ill drive up if you can arrange 3 or more ideally but otherwise Graeme Brown is up your way
Kick Ass 49
Good to hear Graeme is still doing it after the changes, he did our last cert. Will give him a call, was great to deal with last time.
Jon 395
Apply through YNZ and tick Graeme as preferred inspector https://www.yachtingnz.org.nz/racing/safety/safety-inspection-process
Ex Machina 384
You have to log in to YNZ site to access the cat3 registration . I wasted 30 mins going round in circles until I realised that important step. Otherwise it was straightforward if a tad more expensive than in the past .
ex Elly 221
Entries are down this year. Some people are blaming the cost of living crisis, but there are other factors, such as a lot of sailors in Barcelona right now. Last years race got pretty gnarly around cape brett which may have put some people off too. ‘Small but quality' fleet for 2024 PIC Coastal Classic 100 boats are expected this year but last year 147 boats started the 119 nautical mile race between Devonport Wharf in Auckland and Russell Wharf in the Bay of Islands. “We’ve noticed that the economic situation has affected the ability for boats to make it to the race, but we have seen that before and expect it to recover when the economy recovers,” says Adrian Percival of the New Zealand Multihull Yacht Club.“Quite a number of the sailing community have also used their leave up traveling to the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona.” https://www.sail-world.com/news/280322/Small-but-quality-fleet-for-Coastal-Classic
Ed 146
Friendly reminder entries are still open to the 18th, and the late entries fees have been waived given the CAT 3 changes and schedule challenges with the AC.
