Adrianp 120
Anyone know the date of this for this year? I can't find it on the Richmond website. And its Cat4 + extras isn't it?
Absolution 7
March 8th and I think its still Cat 4 + dinghy/raft but I haven't seen a NOR yet.
Kiteroa 8
I'd like to do this one this year.

Marshy 30
Yeah we were talking on the sail back down the coast about this race. Mercenary is keen too.

Absolution 7
Good to hear that a few of you are interested. It's a fun race and normally an even better party in the marina at Marsden cove. Definitely a good weekend away!
Young Entertainer 59
is it on this year, Richmond have no details and the clash at the cove website is all last years details. Thinking about it on the Coyote
Guest
I know the organisers read this (if they are back from the Barrier), I'm sure we'll get an answer soon.
Kaihe Atamai 2
The R66 NOR should be out in late January - race in on March 8th as noted above and this year has a singlehanded division run with SSANZ as part of the Hauraki Singlehanded Series. There will be no Clash at the Cove so far as I've heard this year... The Route 66 will be Cat 4+ as in years past.
markm 30
As mentioned earlier, the 8th March, at least if the AYBA calendar is to be believed. Memory is this race is doomed to never have good weather, ie, SW 15kts, always nothing or blowing like hell from the N or something. FnG is a tiny bit interested too
203 0
Regardless of the horrible weather that we had last year.. (25-30kts on the nose) and regardless of how wet and tired we were on the little Ross 830, Were keen to do it again this year. It would be much nicer for a easy 10-15kt reach the whole way.. But only time will tell. Just waiting to see what other small boats are doing it and whats happening at the time of the race.
Adrianp 120
Thanks for the confirmation. We're keen too - looking like some good interest for the small sporties! Am I right in remembering the Cat 4 extras are Lifelines + Epirb/PLB + liferaft/dinghy?
col j 0
should the quarter pint still be sailed by this lot we are doing it 2 handed. tried with 4 people, 3 people....come oh so close to a win on handicap. this year we try again! iv done it in a reach and dead maggot! time for a run! Jocon 0
Gulf Harbour Yacht Club will again be sailing their Firewatch 56 race from Gulf Harbour to Marsden Cove on March 8th. Starting non extras at 0900 and the open division will start one hour after the Route 66 starts from Richmond Yacht Club. Therefore both fleets will be mixing up and sailing towards a common finish line. NOR will be on the GHYC club website in next few days
Richmond 2
The Route 66 NOR is now up on the RYC Website: http://richmondyc.org.nz/wp-content/upl ... -20132.pdf
MikeL 1
Normally too much wind or not enough. With such a great summer Share Delight is an entry for this years race on Friday 8th March. Start time 0900 hrs. It would be good if other Farr 1020's entered the race to have our own division. Need 4 boats. Looking forward to the dock party at Marsden Cove Marina. markm 30
Bit of a concern the number of undesirable elements that are talking of going this year. Could always make FnG an honorary 1020 Mike, I'll even help out with a class handicap, let's see, smaller ...
