well just witnessed a yacht being hauled and 6 months and only slime ,Diesel,1 cup per 4lts in hard antifoul,old guy reckons been doing it for years,buggered if i know

a couple of us sitting around the other night and we thought WAX?could it applied hot to hull,bit like womans leg wax,would it stick to hull when cold and could it be faired?so now have a plate with wax on it submersed in a place that wont get disturbed,maybe in 3 weeks time will have a look, there of course a friction factor we have not considered.

why should it be available to commercial and not recreational/is it because comms are not in port long enough for any effects?they wants us to take measures we have no foul when moving around,yep agree with that but why take something off that works. Are we all going to going to go down copper coat road,stays on hull but not ablative?

Popped to my marine shop today and shock horror wtf, The stock of Altex number 10 when its gone its gone,no longer be available for recreational use,will be commercial available only,Why? because it works

i am at panmure,hempels lasted 4 months and number 10 2yrs,with 2 quick hauls,coming out today for a week,yep shes filfy last clean off march

thank Island Time will pass, just keep a eye out for number 10 when on special again as thats what I currently use,2yrs as well

our 26ft had shot teak decks laid over ply.had a quote to replace decks in ply,strip teak and existing ply and relay/glass $10 to $12k that was 3 yrs ago,keep looking.

ok time to paint decks,what to use?anyone had any luck with acrylic paints and special roller? want to go to a grey,as beige/deck cream never seems to stay clean.Going over the top of a grp deck that has anti skid patches.thanks

looked at a Akron yachtmaster at last years boat show,the rep was busy and took my details and never made contact,so no contact whats their service like?ended up with a maxxon and very happy! -
Being the Brave sole that I am,waited till she went to work and used her carpet cleaner on the front runner and yep looks real nice now,squabs at and she caught me and took over(bonus)engine painted so interior all done,next weekend hopefully paint decks.

After using the yacht for the last 2 yrs,thought must be time to clean inside,if it removable it came home,pulled out stove and yep not the most pleasant job with what was hidden behind,i am sure last owner never cleaned there or crawled down quater berths. Tomorrow attack motor and bird sh@t on deck

Have a yanmar that's showing signs of rust etc Want/need to paint in place(removing not a option) what's best?degrease first,wire brush rust areas Now what primer to use?? top coat Vht paint?
