Talk to wafer off the violator? They have a minter.
-
Just a guess but would say he wants to run the motor but not motor - i.e. battery charge etc without dragging the prop?

Would that count as carrying two anchors?

Sails should be mint, they were a new full set of Stratis sails with Taffeta when Ryan sold it so should have lasted well. The rig is ex Whio from memory, had a few issues which we resolved and repaired and put it in the Creepy. Would be a shame to see it broken up just for a mast - the Main and Jobs wont fit a GBE - the boom length and J measurement is smaller (The boat is only 7.5m) so sails wouldnt transfer over. It used to be able to keep up with the tail end of the GBE's on a breezy day. It loves the breeze and is wet but fun to sail. Big sea's arent its friend- its an inshore boa

The same one you did the worlds fastest Auckland to Tauranga the wrong way in?

Basic forestay tang... Keep it simple stupid and bolt on the biggest kite to get the advantage! If an adjustable rig tension is wanted then look at a built in mast jack under the base of the rig. heaps easier to work with, and moves the weight aft and lower. It was probably onto a highfield lever previously so they could drop the forestay off and lean the rig back to drop it to trailer etc - The ross 780's, noelex 25's and so on have it

Nothing cutting a hole wont fix...

Ouch not alot of future in doing that... Bugger

Did i see the hull of the old boat getting driven on a trailer down the motorway the other day? Any word what happened to that?

What is Thunder up to??

Like DrWatson said, if we dont support local then local will close shop, making it a little hard for repairs or quick jobs etc.

Having gone from an outboard on Mercenary to a Diesel on the new boat - i agree an Outboard for simplicity is great. If its broken its easy to fix or replace and easy to take home. But for cruising you really really cant beat a Diesel! Charging capacity, Grunt, Noise when motoring, and Fuel consumption are just so much better!

Yeah havent thought that far apart there Craig! You know me - I dont plan that far ahead! Was thinking of ply, or teak veneer ply but the point above is probably true too.... Hmm i want something not too heavy so the guys dont make me keep removing it from the boat!

Thanks to those that suggested Mitchells joinery - I have had a great experience dealing with them so far - very well priced and prompt replies. For something that seemed hard to do (Making the teak edging for the table) they have made it all very easy for me - so i can highly recommend dealing with them too Cheers guys

OK guys - need a bit of advice... Going to build a table for cruising on the 88.. (Unless anyone has an 88 table they want to sell!). Thinking of doing the capping/moulding around the edge the easy way and buying pre-made teak moulding. I see fosters sell some - http://www.fostersshipchandlery.co.nz/a ... -TEAK.html Is there anywhere else you can get it direct? (So i dont have to pay $30 per corner and $100 each side! - Will get quite expensive). It doesnt need to be teak i dont think - other suggestions welcome - Likewise where is the best place to get the timber (Ply?) for the

Potentially to do with the salt works they had there in 1890's?
-
Potentially the Auckland Regatta? Aucklands biggest keelboat regatta which would have 40 or 50 westhavn boats out? Isnt the 6k a year was for the marina berthage of a boat and associated costs, not for a guaranteed carpark! As much as i can imagine that beeing a pain in the ass
-
Nah that Young88 wasnt actually a 35 foot long Y11 posing as a Y88 was it? Didnt sail like it...
-
Pity there are no 35 foot berths at BBYC Gazza.... You know the Valium would be more welcome down there...

Where does it say 180 minutes??
