The thin end of the wedge, pin stripe suit wearers in Wellington bring this up everytime their dept looks at downsizing . Creating a job for themselves with no definable benefit to the general populace.

Not a passenger carrying vessel.

There may be a nominal fine, but he is still operating ......

The superchargers for the bigger commuter ferrys being built at Mcwing to be installed at HMB, city and North Shore have been costed at $i5 million each to the ratepayers (last month), The Hybrid ferrys being built in Wanganui will work straight away. The Vessev boat being talked about here carries 9 and a skipper, Maritime NZ so far has no special requirements or training for foiling crew and Lithium battery monitoring. This boat is designed for waves up to 800mm according to Erik. Gulf Harbour, Motuihie channel anyone, or Riviera wake.....

You would not leave one unpainted if you wanted long life as the UV will get at the Epoxy, doesnt matter on a TP or a full on race boat as they are not required to last.

The Gold hole -that I guess is public land too? -
20 years ago we were hosting willing seller/ willing buyer get together in the shop at Westypark 12M marinas changing hands for $1.00 -I dont see that anything has changed .

I have a large Blue sea main fuse on my main cable too (mounted separately)

When are insurance companies going to wake up to the Lithium battery issue, they worry about Ewof and gas lines -but the really dangerous fires lately have been battery started -I witnessed one , the intensity would make short work of boats in close proximity such as a Marina..

Ha Priscilla I bought some Navy whaler oars at the Torpedo bay auction and for the last 25 years they have had another life as a Nutshell pram lug rig set of spars . (quite good Oregon)

Best value -OBC at Hobson Bay and HMB because they are owned and run by trusts where the berth holders are shareholders

They are not confidence inspiring for a yachtie, I have always had concerns about some of our local pleasure launches running up to the pacific islands, however in their favour the ones I know have fitted strongly fastened shutters over the windows and fuel up to the extent that they can use their speed if calm enough to make the passage very quickly in the most benign weather they can.

AVS 70 degrees as tested, and K those Epirb drifts are logged not modelled.

Better hope for a lot of Westerlies -though that would not help the Mokes or the Barrier

Except that there was no "rogue wave" just the shallow bottom.

Hang on now, I have just recalled through the mists of time winning a B&G international sales award back in the Whitbread days with Hercules gear, think I prefer a basic Windex now.

I believe all this gobbledegook is telling me that I am a luddite with my wool on the stays and tillerpilot steering straight from an old masthead unit.

I suppose that depends if you are the marine biologist or the contractor....

I see both sides of this having been a" must be kero "man after witnessing two separate gas explosions on other boats while away cruising as a young guy. These days I do use gas however I always turn off at the bottle -and am possibly the only one i know who does , though a lot have a solenoid valve switch at the stove -so that should suffice. The real concern are those that put total faith in the little figaro sniffers, I had a job once that had me testing these units at various sites -lucky if 50% were accurately performing. It seems to me that the real issue here is the cost being char

unfortunately it didnt turn out to be a straight job , due to a suppliers issues, nothing wrong with Bud and Lidgards work.

The only new stocks I did were of 2205 Duplex ss with tangs plug welded by a top NZ SS fabricator , now sadly deceased.

The joy of multihulls Tide/Wind Wind/Tide . Pacific Bay in Tut may be less stressful, though Wellington bay is fine as long as its well north.

Replaced a couple of Chico 40 rudder stocks about 22 years ago after one snapped flush with the hull North of NZ . Yes they were alloy and I dont believe that big a diameter. The first boat got towed back here and we put a new rudder on (with SS stock) then she went offshore another couple of years later and main bulkhead came away after rigging was slack so the occupants got off and I believe she washed up on a reef somewhere.

The last boat coming in seems a little stuck at the hen, reminds me of a certain Blackadder episode, I hope they dont have to resort to the same diet........☠️
