  1. Mine has a similar arrangement. Can pump fresh water into the toilet by closing the seacock, and running the tap in the basin.
  2. Event is this weekend. Entries close today 5pm. https://pybc.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/2023-2H3L.pdf
  3. Next leg starts 4pm today. They will be heading back up the west coast, even though Katana just proved that East can be done.
  4. More likely selling them some Harken gear! Niksen needed a new winch, and Start Me Up had to fit their repaired prod. Arbitare are now out of the race with engine problems.
  5. Pre-start incident. And Start Me Up is looking for a welder when they get to Mangonui. Meanwhile the boats are in now in Bream Bay, and those who have gone into the beach are running out of wind, while those who stayed out have good breeze. E.g. Urban Cowboy now doing 2.6 knots, and Shimmer doing 6.3 knots.
  6. Sounds pretty extreme up there last night.
  7. Napier is out of action. So latest plan is for a 3 leg race. Mangonui, Picton, then round East Cape to Auckland. But if too much debris or lack of rescue services, then after Picton back up west coast round North Cape to Auckland.
  8. Heard on channel 16 yesterday of a submerged silage bale near Kawakawa bay!
  9. A lot happened before the Navy got involved. Police boat Deodar made it to Little Barrier but had to turn back. 3 helicopters involved. One got there but it was too rough to perform rescue. The sailor only turned on his EPIRB after 24ish hours, which was a big help. 10. Not sure, but the same groups are involved in both. So maybe if there is any left over from Bayswater, it will be used for Okahu.
  11. Hardstand Status Update Unfortunately, the Orakei Local Board are still committed to closing the Hardstand as of the 28th of February, despite: • Having no funding, either within their own budget or Councils LTP (10-year plan) to implement the “park” that they consulted on and gave the impression they would be implementing. • Two public meeting facilitated by the good people at the Auckland Yachting and Boating Association to try and convince the OLB to delay or review their decision (both meetings were attended by literally hundreds of boats and users). • A prese
  12. Northland boaties warned: Act now before Cyclone Gabrielle hits https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/northland-boaties-warned-act-now-before-cyclone-gabrielle-hits/WZVLJ5FE25EGDCJAETTS72JG6A/
  13. The Squadron party at Kawau this weekend may be a damp squib. Or they may make us race back on the Saturday - just like last year.
  14. Wow $2400 for an Easterly 30. Someone got a bargain!
  15. Probably his total living costs, not just the boat.
  16. Otto, it would be good if this were also publicized via the Save Okahu Bay people. They have good reach through facebook and email.
  17. Self adhesive backing. Comes in 20/30/40 mm thickness. https://www.marine-deals.co.nz/sound-insulation/vetus-sonitech-light-sound-insulation-sheet-20mm-white-facing
  18. Yachting New Zealand Safety Regulations 17.17 The minimum diameter lifeline wire shall be: Yachts under 8.5m (LOA) 3mm Yachts 8.5m to 13m 4mm Yachts over 13m 5mm
  19. Good news the marquee and band are back this year! 😉 Band starts 6pm, prizegiving 7:30.
  20. It is when you get these barnacles attached! Others with different antifoulings have had the same problem, so not just a coppercoat problem.
  21. One of the competitors in the GGR (solo round world race) used coppercoat. Large amount of goose barnacles attached after 5 months. Some commentators think he didn't "activate" the coppercoat correctly.
