  2. Once gale force is up to speed you mean? Look out!
  3. I think you'll find that is already underway...

  5. Yup Fish, all makes sense with that explanation. I think I interpreted the same way as willow (who had a blinder in the race - nice work).
  6. I just did mine. Yanmar 3gm something? $400ish for elbow, $30 for gasket, add on cost of blowtorch to try and get it off. Took me a few hours for sure.
  7. I used to part own a newick Val 111 trimaran. Quite a wet, fun, fast boat. I was dumb enough to sail her to wellington from auckland.
  8. ‘What do we know about 1050s?’ Well, on Saturday I learnt they were slower than an anchored meister....
  9. Nope, they weren't (they were even behind the odd div 2 boat...) Elapsed and corrected times look correct. It has been noted and will be changed when Neil gets back from Aus,
  10. Might be old news, a few weeks old apparently, but just popped up in my Facebook feed Yamaha life jackets may be missing canisters to inflate! https://www.recalls.govt.nz/recall/yamaha-inflatable-lifejacket
  11. What weather have you got for us next weekend Jon?
  12. I have a vague feeling a farr 38 will not pass cat 1 stability requirements. Does pass cat 2. 1104 is fine I believe.
  13. I haven't sailed either. My marina neighbour has an 1104 with a hard dodger and he is planning on taking offshore next year I believe. Personally I would tend toward the 1104, due to higher freeboard, open transom, and other boats have done it. I cant recall the name of the 1104 that has been offshore, another hard dodger one.
  14. 27 knots in a lagoon? WTF? Really? Awwweeesssome
  15. Link didnt work? Was it supposed to be the video? Here: https://youtu.be/69Mhd4qAXzU
  16. Was a great day on the water, pretty straightforward. Light to moderate breeze. Sun, dolphins, rum. Hard to beat really. We had 10 div 1 boats and 14 div 2 boats on the NZ Rigging longhaul course, so a fun start and lots of boats to play with. Wired disappeared pretty quick, but rest stayed close enough so we could most people most of the time. In Div 2 Katana (sunfast) and us had a good battle on the beat, we both went left and hooked into a great lift which really helped our position at Tiri Navy Buoy. They got there first, not by too much. Once kites were up we had a few ups and do
  17. If you have a decent vang setup, all you lose without having a traveller is the ability to haul the boom above centre?
  18. Well done on ignoring the original post.
  19. 8 Piedys entered! Awesome work guys.
  20. And big boat 100 mile is still not cat 3, just cat 4 + a few extras (no raft needed).
