  2. Nope - played the problem. You deride internationally successful publications as not publishing news because it only contains "sh*t about sh*t that happens not around me". This position can really only be interpreted as a narssisitic and parochial point of view. It doesn't in any way address the original question of identifying balanced media. It provides us with the insight that balance is not actually what some people want. They want a publication that affirms them. You put yourself up as as the arbiter of balance and content. It would be remiss of me and not addressin

  3. This is kind of what I am nattering on about. So my understanding is, the Gvt funded a string of sensor Bouy's that run along the Hikurangi and Kermadec Trench. The idea is to give us an early warning of what may be coming toward our shores. The reason is that the edge of the drop off was sounded several years back and what was found shocked the scientific guys. Large areas of the Trench has mud overhangs that can and have slid down the sides of the drop. When these go, they can produce a Mega Tsunami. These types of waves are measured in the many tens of metres in height. This is why my q

  5. I thought this was a sailing/boating site not a political forum, but if this is allowed here is a response from someone who lives in Canterbury. Yes there is plenty of water under Canterbury, problem is since the democraticly elected regional council was sacked by John Key we now have the equivalent in cows of the population of New York craping on it along with all the other stuff that gets put on the soil/shingle to get grass to grow. Would you allow this to happen to your Waitamata harbour that you don't even rely on to drink from? As a first responder to the quakes it makes me sic

  9. Odd, cos us radical leftie woke socialist sychophants think Granny Herald is a capitalist clickbait property developer advertising flyer with the additional downside of having self-promoting opinion pieces by centre-right hacks and lurid talkback hosts flanking every advert for a DGZ Des Res house. Potentially, we are both correct - the paper and its website are a mess of bullshit that would be an embarrassment if it was produced by a first-year journalism student let alone from what was once one of the leading publicaitons in the country.

  10. Tiri tiri Matangi would make a great reserve around the whole island,500m exclsion zone, would give visitors the chance to snorkel while waiting for ferry etc.cleanish/clear water.Had this descussion with Scott Macindoe a few yrs ago.. There is a reserve off long bay and I think it is only to protect the pipi beds,n and same around the sisters at Waiheke/ponui only ever held undersize and Kahawai. The problem is trying to the reserves across the line, opposition from both parties comms/reccs not in my backyard.

  12. I'm picking our gay black feminist communist leadership has other cunning intrigue to concern themselves with as they wring their hands and cackle into their copies of Mao's Little Red Book. They leave confounding the public and destabilising common sense to their minions. The halls of science are filled with those whose sole personal satisfaction comes from issuing sweeping and misleading directives designed to cause widespread panic and to weaken the moral and physical fibre of the nation. Proof of this comes from the 2010 Christchurch quake. Tiny by global standards and easily d

  13. Just another part of Miraka Honi's ( NZ )governing Communists master plan to keep the peasants living in fear. Thus they are controlled. And we've got a lot more to come over the next 2 plus years.
