  1. Your Bro could do a lot worse than a Lotus 9.2.
  2. As above. Parts for my 2003 model became an issue, hence the decision to repower.
  3. Looks like more crap later this weekend. Just took a spin up the harbour to run the engine and tickle up the batteries and that's about it for the weekend. Baby sitting the rest of the weekend.
  4. Had an R26 for 13 years. Great 1st boat. Get it surveyed by a reputable marine surveyor.

    E5.9 Regatta

Just shows what a stunning place Mercury Bay is and what a great facility the Whitianga marina is.
  6. You guys did a fantastic job of running that event. Sounds like they all want to come back.
  7. Very rugged down in Whitianga, lucky we got the last 5 races of the Elliot 5.9 nationals in yesterday mornring
  8. +1 for the Waeco. I have a CFX 35 and it's great.

    35 Footers

Regarding the 9.2 Lotus, the cockpit is a lot narrower than the 10.6 and allows for you to brace your legs against the leward cockpit sets. Not that much slower upwind than a 10.6. What about a Davidson 35?
  12. We have a CQR and never ever had any trouble. When i set the anchor I always give it plenty of time in reverse and let the helm go when it appears to be set. If the helm stays neutral i'm happy and shut down engine. For a 10m boat i think you maybe a bit short in the chain length. Also, what is chain size?
  13. When our kids were young, fish and chips at the kawau Yacht Club was one of the highlights of the Xmas holiday cruise.
  14. Was out fishing on a powerboat yesterday and could hardly walk last night my back was that bloody sore.
  15. Totaly agree with you wheels. Stunning craft.
  16. There are good haulout facilities at PYBC. Worth joining for that alone. Plus Harrytom will be able to give you advise on Cav 26 do's and don'ts.

    Lotus 9.2

As you can see this is a very functional option. The 9.2 is a very easy boat to sail as they are so well balanced and aren't family frighteners. Had this one 11 years now and still enjoy it as much as the day we bought it. Probably the biggest volume 30fter around excluding a Pogo 30 but that's a different animal all together.

    Lotus 9.2

Have a sugar scoop on our 9.2 with built in step each side. Next best thing to a walk through. It also makes dinghy access easy. Will provide photo later.
  19. Frenchmans cap down the bottom end.
  20. What about Sail rock. One very big rock.
  21. Sounds about right. I run our D1-30 at about 2200 rpm and sit at about the same speed, maybe a tad more. Need those extra horses to get in and out of Whitianga harbour against big tides.

    Cruisair A/C

Sounds a bit too fancy for my old clunker.
