  1. Ah see the head is on the network bus, you must have the newer head, twin wind vanes. Will think a little further, wonder what you can see across the PC port !
  2. May well be the mast head unit, but would be worth checking out the server config. As a start 2 simple things to check for on the server 1. is the Led beside the mast head unit input connection flashing ? 2 Is the sever set to internal or external wind head
  3. Is a great seat to watch the miles trundle by. Auto helm on and beer in hand I’m a happy man. Have never had the kite hook up on the edge, but yeah a rounded corner would be sensible.
  4. Have mine like this(below). Wire run up inside the rail.

    Ovlov charges...

Thanks for the tip, Cameron, I have the D1-20 will have a look. So what seal required replacing ?
  6. I thought they were drilling for oil

    Simrad autopilot

Assuming it is of the TP10,22,32 variety then this from the manual
  8. I reckon they should leave it there. Would make a great swimming hole.

Thx MMT So the class rules on Foil Flap are very rigid, limits it to a plane wing type flap, only there to get the wing up or down. No feathering then. Would make it quick to move thru a tack.

I know there is a limit on the number of foils that can be used (6 ?) and a sand box shape that they must fall within, but is there anything to prevent articulating the wing on the end of the foil arm. Looking at this bulb on AM would it give a variable range of lift control with a single foil ? 11. Have been going down this track too, compliance for insurance. PIA My solution was to remove the gas tank from under the sink, remove all the gas hardware from my burnsco 2 element hob, then cut a hole In the top plate and insert the unit that Beccara posted. Works a treat, retained a gimballed element with safety rail and is enough to boil the billy.
  12. As was posted earlier, I used KZ Marine. Good quality and all the swage fittings you may need.
  13. I see my favourite weather App has been “ taken offline indefinitely”, anybody know the story behind this ?
  14. Crikey i should edit better. Mariner is a different company. Just tried the original link and it worked for me.
  15. Have to admit I had a couple of “ can’t find the server” when I tried , then copied and pasted the link when successful. Have just been successful with https://marinermarine.co.nz/
  16. I’ve been going thru exactly the same insurance issues, berthed at WestHaven My insurance was increased 20% because “it’s an older boat” excuse, and requiring another survey. The surveyers of course have to cover themselves as they are liable should something go wrong so they will dot the I’s and cross the T’s. The insurance company writes the contract such that anything that could lay a claim can be written off as poor maintenance, seamanship or any other reason such that you really don’t have any claimable insurance. So between the surveyers, insurance company’s and Marinas demands for $5M
  17. Excellent info, 10mm is thicker than I would have expected. Much appreciated
  18. Thx SR31 useful info, so what thickness did you use ?
  19. Thx Lateral how long have you had it in ?
  20. Sorry Chariot takes the prize, Zozza asked the question. Duh !
  21. Zozza takes the prize, yes is a Spencer 30. Butyl tape seems to be the go. But am more interested in how those who have gone for no screw attachment have fared.
  22. So I’m in the process of restoring Barbarians decks, and have come to the windows. I’m keen to try and preserve as much of the original character of the yacht I.e I’m not trying to make it all new. Have resealed the windows a couple of times over the last 20 years. The first time with some sika, didn’t last long till their were leaks, the 2nd time with mastic which was great but that sticky non hardening mastic is forever easing out and sticks like STABlanket. Those screws spaced every 70mm around the window don’t help, just 1 not right and water finds it’s way. Also restoring the aluminium
  23. The last 2” CS brass screws I bought from Fosters cost me $23 each !
  24. Not wanting to hijack BUT I would much rather have the daylight in the morning; should get rid of it completely.
