I was there on Xmas day and witnessed him collide with some Dutch liveaboards. I managed to get video of it. He only missed me by around a meter. I had to gun it to get out of the way, horn blasting the whole time. I felt bloody sorry for the Dutchies, they were sitting on their boat have a glass of bubbles, next thing this prick went straight into them. He then moved across to Palm Beach from what I understand, and I think his tender washed up on Oneroa after he hit the Dutch couple.

It was nowhere near as bad as the forecast said... which appears to becoming the norm and Im sure that put alot of people off. The forecasts were saying if you werent round Brett by 0200 you were going to get a pasting, and it just wasnt like that. My only other gripe was that the wind swung left after every left hand turn...sometimes she can act like a real bitch. We finished at 0400 after a 20 knot screamer down from the Brett.

Was it bad conditions though? Several were fishing off the back, others were cooking/ sitting in the cabin chewing the fat and I think I read it was only 13 knots and small and getting smaller swells according to a survivor. If it was that bad, surely they would have waited for the shelter that wasnt that far away before cooking?

A huge problem is the red tape. I had a mate involved on the organisation of the AM Cup when we last won it.
