I saw no recycling whatsoever...only a sign about dumping where the recycling bins were and a pile of rubbish There was noone there when we went in.

We were one of those boats. We sailed no further in than we have in the last 20 years. We werent even hugging the wall at all as we were in a tacking duel with another boat. A family member who lives on the island told me that the council is making Great Barrier '0 rubbish', which means there will be no rubbish barge this summer, nor any bottle collection facilities.
