Hope it revives the small boat numbers in the coastal like the piedies and trailer yachts .
-
Check the promo videos by the designer on YouTube they were made quite some time ago before the olympics hoopla . Seems a bit quicker than a 930 or a Y88 . Still ugly , still strange but has a few clever features

Extensive damage to the reef I would imagine
-
The hit a reef in Fiji too and made a bit of a hole in it
-
Yep same anchor bash plate and scuppers up the bow

It was an erceg boat , saw it in Papeete and musket cove around the millennium , poor crew had to wear full cruise liner suit uniforms replete with captains caps . Think it was called sensation ?

There is one up here in Whangarei that’s just had a major birthday and was from gulf harbour , dunno if it’s the same one ? It’s called camara about 75-80 ft https://www.camarasailing.com/

Yeah a great race ! Except for the bit from Tiri to Rodney that took us 12 hours Highlights for us were discovering big lifts in close to Devonport after the start , yelling fake abuse at a mate on his 40 footer after forcing him to give way and tack , some of his crew didn’t know we were from Whanga and got their knickers twisted . Getting the land breeze off pakiri camping ground and hoisting the borrowed from UK massive assy and watching boat speed go up after 12 hours of doing 0.5 to 1 knot for 12 hours .

Last time I looked it was up to 52 boats all up . About 20 are from gulf harbour/weiti

Is going , hoping for a south easterly of some strength !
-
I’m a bit pissed this race doesn’t get coverage on the evening news in the sport segment Plenty of obscure crap about rugby

Whatever happened to the boat called midnight oil ? I vaguely remember reverse sheer so it may have been an Elliot of similar vintage to a 1990 GT-R

Whangarei is shocking for fizz and launch drivers passing close , very close at speed and like beccara said many boats cut right thru groups of boats at speed with divers down . Business is booming in a lot of sectors up here and I'm guessing that many people are upscaling from dinghy fishing to a chunky fizzy or in some cases straight to a chunky fizzy without much boating experience at all . It seems that a few then move on to a massive tinny for game fishing or a "riv" or similar import

Got the factory dual thrust on our 8hp yammy ,950kg boat and it's fine in reverse and 7.5 knots full tit. Solas are good too and way cheaper than genuine

Goes bloody well downwind
-
Dickey boats in Napier make damn fine looking trailer fizzers with retro American styling
-
Middle one ! Other two look a bit Hanse

Slight drift , I was gutted to see tne Ross 40 Te Rapauraha rotting away at Russell the other day . Apparently the owner will not part with it .looks like if it’s left for another year she will be beyond ressurection. Such a waste of what was a great boat

Two o'clock on the Saturday arvo of that weekend at toots entrance 4 ish o'clock on Saturday arvo . Saturday morning was bluebird and 8-10 knots easterly but the forecast was for gusting to 20 by midday and 30 by evening . It pretty much went from 20 to 30 in an hour with heavy showers. We were stuck at toots until Tuesday and even then it as 2.5 m swell and leaving entrance was not fun
