  2. Take a trip up tamiki river there has been some dubious liveaboards,There have been a numbers of thefts by a certain vessel that resides in the river, doubt that would happen in a marina.Didnt say you need to be wealthy for a marina but you would have a better type of person thats all I meant.I know you a get a bad apple in every bunch.
  3. At least you would have a better class of live aboard on a marina due to fees rather than some tucked up rivers doing night raids.
  4. Sailing NZ the answer is really quite simple. Its not what you like or want its what your partner wants and feels comfortable on.. Made that mistake once, shopping alone.

  11. If at Kawau,we use to take jerry cans up swansea bay(top of bon accord) go up the river at high tide and there is a little waterfall and fill the cans.More of a way to fill in time.Used drop the flounder net on way up.But you will be constrained by draft no doubt.

  15. You just need to hope that "David Seymour"Act party has no influence in the council.Went to fishing Symposium a few yrs ago and the first thing that came out of his mouth was"You lot regardless of size of boat, you are all rich pricks so must pay". First time I have ever heard speak at a public event then he got up and left.
  16. So wrong there about Mcds, most stores are franchise owned, very few company stores, they were going to close dining in and have drive thru only, this was proposed before L4 came in to play.I deliver to them,They were deemed unessential,Aussie still have drive thrus open in some states. Its a risk though. All you need is some A hole to spit at server and its away Covid 19 that is. Mdcs head office is the landlord in most cases. The franchisee basically pays a % to head office and is responsible for the rest, wages equipment etc Mds is not about hamburgers unless you are the franchisee, they a

  18. When you say new to sailing but go out on friends yacht, what is it?could you comfortably be able to motor in to a marina or pick up a mooring??these I feel is a starting place, being confident to get on /off mooring marina. Depending on experience you say Lotus maybe too slow? Hmm remember along with speed things happen quickly and on a fully crewed vessel you may get the feeling this easy. Before rushing in decided what you want it for and where and whats it going to cost too moor, then work out basic maintenance costs.Buying a vessel is the cheap part. Once you have decide on a vessel the
