If you have a Y88 it will be an 1" shaft and usually 1 1/4" OD cutless bearing (the most common size) available at most good chandlers or BLA on the shore or Lusty and Blundell. Unless its the one with the Honda civic engine -that may have a bigger shaft !

Club Marine pushed another insurance sponsor out of the squadron recently -then promptly cancelled the MRX insurance blaming losses offshore! Weird behaviour -shop around people.

Tis true as I have discovered with the humble lug rig, mix it with modern materials and you have easy efficiency with amazing lift. But the old Cornish fishermen knew that hundreds of years ago -and some who were only pretending to be fishing!

SS shaft, Bronze prop, copper stern tube, ally or iron in engine/gearbox, Bronze or gunmetal gland -there is already quite a mix. A bronze gland in kauri will not react at all without outside influences. You are right easiest way to put it to bed-next year put an epoxy stern tube in with a shaft seal as you have -prop speed the prop and you will see a big reduction in potential.

Hopefully the two KSD's can rip up into the bay holding thier lead as this year they started on time and deserve to place.

Will the Sail GP first boat be ready to come out of Marsden Point for a flypast?
-
Any idea of the entry numbers this year?

We shared some fun Christmas parties down at Okahu Bay in the old days with Cookie on the squeezebox, a great guy with his old Lotus (car) and even racing against the little keelboats at Glendowie.

So we can give up valuable wharf space for a football? stadium, but not use the existing long wharves for the longer cruise ships -instead expanding further into the harbour? The council is going mad.
-
The default position is up, ie the boats have the right of way thats why it is up at night...
-
KM I would leave a reasonable clearance on the prod bearings just for ease of deployment , on your pintle ones go for 5 -6 thou .

No breathalysers then?

The reason why Thordon and Tufnol (Novasteen) have to be set up loose is they both swell quite a bit when immersed, and you dont want them to seize on to your shaft, thats why standard cutless or Vesconite are to be preferred, they all run on a laminar film of water if set up correctly.
-
PSP on the shore and use your old ones as template, I have used Terrostat twice now and still good twelve years on . One component.

Dont be harsh guys, if your stomach fell against the controls it could happen to you too... then your medallion gets caught as you try to move away. Actually the controls appeared to be working fine as they rushed out of the viaduct before more pics were taken.

I now see warnings to clean my hull before going north on the marina gates, this has gone far enough -the fan worm is in the Bay of Islands as we know, is it doing any harm -cant tell. The small barnacles from Opua however are a pernicious creeping threat which we definitely dont want down here, when is Auckland going to stop the Northland boats coming down without proof of a recent clean? Northlands jobsworths should be held up for public ridicule instead of carrying on the misinformation.
-
The tank farm is yet to be dealt with? The most recent renderings from Panuku show layers of apartments towards the end of Beaumont street, no commercial marine activity no Superyacht berths and no Public space . Sorry but I cant see the good side of that, should we be surprised ? probably not this is Auckland city of Developers and no planning.

What JB says then rest easy.

Know the owners of your marinas people....

Which marina has lowest salinity that might react with Micron 66
waikiore replied to Zozza's topic in MarineTalk
If the salinity doesnt vary why did they recommend after testing at Westpark years ago that people throw salt into their toilets to enable the Electrosan 's to work as designed ? -
Which marina has lowest salinity that might react with Micron 66
waikiore replied to Zozza's topic in MarineTalk
Not just John B, and the Northland Council are trying to pretend that it doesnt exist -the proof is out there just ask anyone who has spent more than two days in the Bay during the last two years. In particular the antifoul companies are well aware -because of all the new complaints. -
Which marina has lowest salinity that might react with Micron 66
waikiore replied to Zozza's topic in MarineTalk
Milford and Westpark have the least salty water of all the Auckland Marinas , and still no one is stopping Northland boats from coming down with the square barnacle, whilst all the talk is on the harmless fanworm incidently in Marsden cove marina and the Tepuna BOI . -
A D and E likely to be used, A being perfect for those based in Wairau Cove, as long as the tide is in.

Thought the light show was good last night whilst chomping down my squadron curry.
