  1. That sounds horrific. Hope they recover OK
  2. Swing keel like the pogos. 1250?
  3. Its perfect, but im a tight arse and its 3x the price. Thanks for the link though.
  4. Thanks, that's a good idea, I've not tried that technique. Probably what I'll end up doing. I am just sheathing the outside of a very small dinghy, and a 1270mm wide bit would mean no overlaps.
  5. Im surprised we are even allowed to sail in the harbour. There are car ferries, ferries, cruise ships, ships, money to be made. f*ck the sailors City of Fails
  6. Thanks, but they have 1020mm only, some places seem to have 1270mm widths, hunting around at the moment (Will take longer to find then to just overlap and fair I suspect)
  7. Can anyone tell me where to get wider pieces of boat cloth than 1m? Everywhere I google has rolls 1m wide, I need a bit wider, and dont want a join.
  8. Some very smart people designed this. Waaaaay smarter than me. But Holy sh*t she is ugly. She must be fast. Right?
  9. Just to clarify, we pay a squillion dollars a year to berth our boats at a marina that was originally built by boaties for boaties and now we are being told we have to wait to get out through the only remaining entrance to let a commercial ferry operator in and out. f*ck Off!
  10. Im not sure if you are being sarcastic?

    Battery Drills

I have a bosch drill, but the chuck is giving out, so probably stay away from those
  12. Snail force is planning another 2 handed crack at it.
  13. No cold beers i spose, but if having one beer a day, thats a lot of weight (30kg?).....
  14. What human comforts do you want on a race boat that he doesnt have? He has a bunk, hot food, ‘toilet’.

    Wright 11

And not put 1.5m prods on the 1050s...
  16. Mine was fitted under the crossbar between the tillers. One end on the hill side and the other under the bar. It meant the pilot was twice as far from the pivot it should have been (800mm v 400mm??). Other than slower reactions, not too much of an issue. I did find the ST2000 was much faster than the ST1000, which helped. The cats dont need much movement of the tiller, they track well as it is, and at pace, you dont move the tiller anywhere near as much as a mono.
  17. I used to have 2 St2000 tillerpilots on voom, one in each cockpit. Used them a lot when singlehanded racing. Brilliant. Made hoists, drops and peels so much easier. If its breezy, just need to be running deep to do kite stuff. Also made long motoring trips much more pleasant, not having to steer
  18. I turn off my panels when running engine so the alternator is the sole provider of charging current. I assumed the charge voltage of the solar charging would limit the current from the alternator as the reg would see the high voltage?
  19. I looked up last years coastal and saw 144 entries.
  20. A quite raftup? Do you mean a quiet raftup? Or maybe quite a raftup?
