chariot 236
The problem with this event only getting coverage on social media is that it is preaching to the converted. Sailing as a sport is not really growing. If it had mainstream media coverage at least you are putting it out in front of potentially new people to sailing.

True, but is this a race to inspire newbies into sailing? Cold water, no sleep, broken sh*t. 1
Jon 327
NZ Rigging built Katana’s new rig and Bart has flown down and sorted it. Coppilia’s tracker isn’t working currently but they are going to try restarting it from the Uk Arbitare is having to start late start due to a health issue
ex Elly 152
Re Arbitare: "Murray is on his way back to the island after being in hospital over on the mainland for two doses of IV antibiotics after developing a nasty infection (of coral spores in the sea water) in his leg, he has been given clearance by the Dr and is on his way back to the ferry to meet up with Dave and set off after the others "
chariot 236
True, but is this a race to inspire newbies into sailing? Cold water, no sleep, broken sh*t. It's more of an example.Be it the coastal, class champs or whatever. The more it's put in front of potential participants the better. I have had young guys crew for me who hated being rail bait and others loved it. The ones that loved it were all new so that's a good thing. We have to keep trying to get youngsters involved. Not everyone comes up through dinghy sailing.
ex Elly 152
Looks like offshore is paying. Krakatoa smoking everyone on the outside. Titanium have somehow done ok till now near the coast, but they are really slowing now.
RushMan 30
VMG Recent has Arbitare at 16.6 knots!
MarkMT 68
Titanium heading for Dunedin??
ex Elly 152
Copellia are even closer in, so I think Titanium are still racing.

Farina 2
Copellia are even closer in, so I think Titanium are still racing. Did you know that the original owner of Copellia was Phil Hartley, Murray’s ( Arbitare) father.
Ed 131
Heard a roumer there was a protest on leg two. Unsubstantiated gossip or did something happen?
MarkMT 68
Titanium now seem to be heading NE again.
Fish 0
Round NZ and the story of Motorboats prod is now on the front page of Sailing Anarchy. You'd struggle to get wider readership than that... https://sailinganarchy.com/ (sorry, don't know how to link to just the story, but here is the link to the front page). Jon 327
Very interesting point of the race now, Krakatoa has the pedal to the metal but is getting wide Looks like Titanium has decided to chase the rest and Coppilia has stuck to the left on the hope that the next change is coming from there. Fish 0
YB need to tweak it so you can scroll thru the weather in finer detail. All a little to course at the moment. You can scroll through the weather at 3 hr intervals. How much finer detail do you want? You sure your not just having IT issues? PS, there is loads and loads of good material, straight off the race boats. Link on the SSANZ front page (to facebook)

RushMan 30
Hang about... There is weather on the YB tracker ??? (using the app on iPad) I have clicked on the weather button but nothing happens
splashprincess 14
I think the weather only works from desktop, not from the app. https://yb.tl/roundnz2019_3 click the overlays/map toggle to get either predictwind or windy data.
