  2. Probably should be a good example of IOR landfill, but I guess it deserves to be brought back to life. Predecessor to the Farr 727 and sistership to Fantzipants. The rebuild will start later this year, when I get some time to move it out of its current nest.

  4. Not sure how you can compare it to the M.bovis outbreak. In that case, MPI went and shot cows that belonged to someone else. What would you do here? go and shoot all the snapper? Cows are easy to find, they are normally in paddocks and stuff. And not excessively mobile, assuming the paddock is fenced. They don't move twice a day with the tide (unless of course, they are dairy cows, then they move twice a day into and out of the milking shed, but I digress). I found the Sunday programme to be highly emotive. But it skipped some key facts. What is the actual impact of caulerpa, as oppo

  11. the odd sound of an early 180 degree crank laverda jota triple have got an RGS corsa in the shed overseas, a black version of the red RGS in the back ground, but they have the later, smoother 120 crank the reason for the 180 crank was they got lazy when they first stuck another cyl on the twin and didn't bother changing the crank pressing with the result that 2 cyl fire then 1 and the whole thing shakes a bundle.....then they did the right thing and made the 120 crank....but it lost the distinctive sound....so now the 180 crank jota is the 1 collectors want https

  12. The rear wing was connected by a linkage so that under braking it became an air brake. The idea with the front was that with the dive on the forks the front wing would also pitch down. It was a clever idea. Apparently it didn't really work.

  13. Rodger was a real gentleman - i recall going to a midweek test day at Baypark and noticed his van and small entourage in the pits with him out on the track on his (1300?) Mcintosh . as i was getting my own bike ready i noticed him looking over everytime he went past the start/finish straight, and his crew (busy giving laptimes etc) would in turn look (glare) at me too... Just as i was about to go out on the track myself Roger pulled in and rode over to me to tell me about a patch of sand in the braking zone at the end of the back straight, then rode back out past his crew and carried on . 14. Went round to Roger Freeths place when I was a teenager to get some advice on the merits of building a bike for the track, I had boxes of H2r engine and bike parts, but never had the money to finish the project, probably just as well! Got spat of the road H2 several very painful times in the 70's!!! Think he he'd just finished racing TZ750's at the time. He was a really smart, helpful guy, a great loss when he passed.
