  1. Easy enough to do yourself here https://www.maritimenz.govt.nz/commercial/ships/registration/part-B/default.asp hardest part for you is you firstly need to de register your boat in the UK, but you will probably know how this is done, you need to send a copy of this with your application as above, it can all be done online at this end
  2. I have mine plumbed into the anchor well with a hose barb in the top of the bulkhead, then if it gets turned on by mistake it runs into the well and drains. I run a short hose (2m) to wash off anchor chain if needed and also connect a 20m garden hose if I need to wash the decks

Time to Burn completed the 2008 RNI, sailed back to Napier and was then sailing up to Tauranga with same crew as the keel needed removing as they suspected an issue Keel fell off at daybreak within 20nn ? of Tauranga, Clarkie the crew was down below at the time and drowned. Hindsight they should have removed the keel in Napier Yacht is now called Omega, it had a conventional keel fitted after this, originally it had a Z keel

Timing of tide, swell size and direction plus advise from harbour master. Watch some YouTube videos of bar crossing in AU to give you the idea.
  5. 49 at present out of possible 50 Saving a spot for a Australian skipper and New Caledonian boat and crew, but not likely to get into the country. So if you’ve ever thought one day you’d like to have a go at a longer shorthanded race, now’s you’re chance.

Was thinking that too Wonder if you could make one out of pvc pressure pipe ? The cost of the fittings would make it more expensive that stainless or Ali

    Old Pics

Next time I’m over there (with lockdown it’s been our local) I’ll take a photo from the same angle as first photo Its all full of our invasive imports Mangroves Nice to see what the natural state would have been like
  10. Don’t know but they all use the same base elements id try just flooding cockpit with fresh water to start and work the tiller, the higher the water level the greater head to push it through. Lifting the tiller head should let more water through but firstly just try as is, half an hour of playing with your stick should tell you if it’s getting better
  11. I’d be trying flushing it first before you drop it, will need dropping next haulout but it should free up if you get the salt and dirt out. It won’t just drop if you remove the bolt as it’s stiff, try removing the bolt then replace with a longer one so you can work the tiller whilst flushing but it can’t drop too far if it suddenly frees up Chances are it’s a tube from cockpit sole to hull with plastic bushes top and bottom so it can flex between
  12. Firstly I’d try blocking the cockpit drains with corks or similar and flood the cockpit with saltaway or similar solution then work the tiller and try to flush out the dirt and salt There will be a key way cut into the head of the rudder stock and tiller base, remove the bolt and washer and the rudder will drop through, but will be tight so will probably need flushing anyway If your brave remove the bolt and washer then replace the bolt with a line tied to it then work the tiller, this will allow you to see what’s happening and allow liquid better access
  13. They were the course Marshel boats, always belonged to CG, just on loan to AC for the event
  14. Wait list is almost emptied out, so it’s been re opened, lost a few boats due to Covid restrictions stopping some from getting into country or getting boats ready or just regulations. Plus lost a couple because of work or life commitments I don’t think this event will be fully subscribed come start day so if your keen get in touch
  15. It’s not possibly full of salt/marine growth ? If it’s just plastic of a type bushes top and bottom it may just need a good clean and grease (of the correct type) I’ve seen this in boats that have sat for a while Sometimes there’s a grease nipple between the two bushes which would be hard to get to on a 830
  16. SSANZ Evolution Northern Triangle will be a fully vaccinated event under these rules We will also need to amend requirements to split briefings and prize givings to stay under the 100 as this stands On the good side is with the traffic light system regions will be open and we will just have to abide by the level at the stops
  17. As for using the motor, won’t he a problem as the stick will float away from outlet and you have a inline filter or two I’m hoping ?
  18. Go fishing with a hook bent onto the end of a length of seizing wire, easiest if the tank is about half full Then make a new dipstick that’s too long to drop in.
  19. Well done, I thought it would have been way more buoyant on the foot. And good thinking on the Cat 1
  20. Be interested to see pics of how you get it to sink the pointy end rather than the heavy end lm sure you’ve got this sorted
  21. That’s it, really impressive room for sub 40’ plus actually sailed nicely
