    New Racing rules

Tanks Carpe, I;d missed that bit. Oh and BOIGuy, appreciate the links and info, but be nice mate. This should be a good conservation about the new rules, not slagging people off
  3. Seems spinlock have a standard (pictured below) and performance version that IT posted this is the double cup tether currently on the fosters website

    New Racing rules

For example old rule 26.1 Compared to the new rule The words .. crew or equipment have gone?! So does the bowsprit constitute hull or equipment... can;t find a definition quickly of what a hull is and what is equipment. Check rule 14, that's a really big change for some fleets, no exoneration from a minor collision even if you were right of way but could have avoided.
  5. Had a tour around the site on point Erin this afternoon, not my project but a tidy little operation
  6. Understatement of the year award contender right there
  7. Wait, where do you park the chopper now?
  8. Another option could be to park you car on your boat!
  9. Hmm, I thought you could get up to 4 days parking at z pier http://www.zpier.co.nz/z-pier/getting-there/
  10. In all seriousness, why not? surely some of your crew could? I know I did last year Alternativly get your crew to car pool and park at Z pier, its only $20 per day and you can buy 4 days at a time.
  11. What is it about people who Beth at Westhaven? HMB, WestPark, orakei and Bayswater Al charge about the same, have less parking and less facilities plus are much further away from decent links yet there are no threads on here moaning and complaining about them. What do they do better, despite having less facilities and changing the same money?

    Ovlov charges...

It’s all too easy to forget the very real cost of holding stock, especially in a low volume market like the marine industry. if you can wait for the drop shipped item from the us, and also the extra delay from COVID and potentially some justifiable interest from customs then go for it. If you need it tomorrow, it’s not unreasonable to pay for the convenience. I do concede the 400% markup quoted above does seem a bit rich though
  13. Rubbish, I want to, and do, use the trains every day. The northern motorway will soon be at a standstill In the mornings of all the bus users users permanently switch to cars. Just because you love your car doesn’t mean it’s the right solution for everyone. In the same vein busses and trains don’t suit everyone. the problem comes in that motorway upgrades are paid by central government, but public transport is only funded by local councils, both with very different political agendas
  14. Perhaps even just 1 decent 360 camera so you can look wherever you want
  15. yep, looking forward to it, hopefully this year we'll get to do all three courses!

  19. Social gatherings limited to 10.... I guess the 52's won't be racing for a little while longer
  20. And yet they have a massive waiting list....
  21. Note the Borderline pod wasn't for Cat 3. Remember you'll need at least 1.3m of headroom plus the bunks requirement

    2:1 halyard hardware

The equiplite stuff is nice but makes tylaska look cheap! I think the friction ring and soft shackle is going to be the way for now, just gotta sort out how to tie the shackle

    2:1 halyard hardware

sorry don't understand, soft shackle what onto what?
  24. I'm currently using a proper block for my 2:1 haylard, but would appreciate a bit more hoist height Arrangement at the moment is a plain bearing 1000kg SWL selden block, with the shackle going onto the top of the main te 8.5 class is airdraft limited so any gains in hoist height are a win. Looked at the offering from Tylaska, wichard, and Selden, any group experience with these? they llok nice but price wise they are up there for a shacke Halyard is 8mm (inc cover) dyneema type rope, suggestions, comments?
  25. Thompson 750's are faster than magics, looking at race track you'll be in the mix. Has deep purple really only ever done one race?
