I assume the dipstick tube is connected to a Banjo bolt screwed into the bottom of the sump (the drain plug in industrial applications). If this is the case that would be the first place to check - maybe a failed washer. If an oil circulation pipe has failed you would expect to see a spray stain from it

to my knowledge all NMEA plugs are sealed, none available to make up a plug.

I have used solder and heat shrink, but in some cases where I need to disconnect the cables in the future eg wind speed cables, I have connected them at Blue Sea terminal strips following these guide lines https://pbase.com/mainecruising/terminating_small_wires I finished up buying the tools and terminals from USA because I could not find them in NZ at the time

more or less, I refer to them as cousin's rather than true sister ships. Mine (Comfort Zone) was to the original design but stretched and there is a second one off the same moulds that to my knowledge has never been launched, I believe still in a shed in Avondale. Interestingly quite a few of her drawings including the lines plan were drawn by Roger Hill in his role as Farr's chief draftsman. Alan Smith/Smith's boat yard Whangarei decided to build these for export to USA and had the Farr office tweak the design (removed the clipper bow, different interior, longer cockpit with LOA 13.

Farr 13.99 (design no 92), with a little boat builders license actually 14.5m. She has the same profile clipper bow as Ceramco

how to significantly extend the life of the clears, and keep the cockpit cooler when the sun is low

is that dimension per battery or the battery box size? A 225 - 250ah (T105 form) is 260 L x 181 W x 270-290H (Lifeline has a 300ah 6V with this footprint, 328 H) A 300 - 325ah (L16 form) is 310L x 183W x 370h As for AGM brands, Lifeline are the best and you pay for them. I have AGM's from Enertec and so far so good, altho I preferred the Toyama hybrid gels they used to sell.

If the cylinder tank is copper, could be worth flushing and keeping, otherwise I would replace it
-
would not bet on that! There is a 12mm clevis pin somewhere in the mud under my yacht, never to be seen again.

Royal Perth YC was very stuffy about the names of members' boats, but someone managed to get "Cimsagro" past them - spell it backwards

heard today from a Kiwi yacht about to depart from Fiji to NZ. They have been told when they arrive back in NZ they cannot quarantine on the yacht, they must quarantine in a hotel quarantine facility.

others that come to mind Commercial - Half Moon bay and Pine Harbour Surprised you cannot come out at Brooklands, I think there is another slipway further up the Wairoa but do not know draft Shelly Beach BC - members only, maybe join for the long term BBYC - not sure if members only? Is the slip beside the old Panmure bridge still functioning? Not sure with the highway expansion -
well maybe if they are to be let in the government should follow French Polynesia's long term practice of requiring a repatriation bond for all crew, if they do not have a onwards airfare

Waihape was Johnny Wray's last yacht. I very much doubt if there were any drawings beyond some sketches he might have done

Latest position - Pete uses Sailmail via Iridium Go and says there is a set up option so that everytime he connects to Sailmail, it automatically sends out a position report to the AIS "world". This is why KR can be identified mid ocean whereas most pleasure boats cannot -
and yet there seems to be international flights continuing to arrive almost daily from India (rapidly catching up to USA's case count), almost always carrying at least 1 COVID case. Of the 12 cases announced today 10 came from India. go figure??

KR currently on a southerly course to pick up the preferred latitude for the reach/run to the Azores -

I don't think that was ever going to happen. Pete made the comment "Canadian CG and authorities have been very courteous and helpful, no problems" as he entered Baffin Bay a few weeks ago -

Kiwi Roa's latest position, heading for the Azores, when he makes a left turn -
they should have painted the temporary piece of pipe Harbour Bridge Gray, too many people slow down to look at the temporary repair

from what I can make out this strut is in compression as part of the support truss so if this is the case stretch/elasticity would not be an issue

Are Westhaven selling licences for the new berths or still just proposing rentals? I had heard they were rethinking this as Westhaven has been transferred back to Council in some financial sleight of hand, Council is basically broke (thanks to CRL) and they need to find the money from somewhere to fund the extension.

I think you mean 95% of the risk. The design and consenting cost at Sandspit was around 25% of the total build price, but it took about 7 yrs to obtain all the consents. Sandspit's consenting was bankrolled by a group of club members funding the process, with all our money at risk. Cost alot more than initially envisaged The other big issue with a new marina is if there is dredging involved, where does that get disposed these days?
