  1. Extremely calm in the harbour and not much wind
  2. That is a Jack Cropp boat and saw it being towed in Westhaven this week.
  3. It sounds like a Shibaura, check the exhaust injection elbow
  4. Fish is correct I am aware of a few early adopters who have since come back and purchased a conventional diesel, range issues being the thing, cool if your cruising is town to Issy bay or Motuihie but unless you have a significant solar array and no timetable issues we are not there yet, a rum racer may be the ideal boat.
  5. Thats why I have one too!

    Dogs

I will admit to taking my dog ashore at Rangitoto to do his business -he had a whale of a time at night chasing rats--in 1972
  12. This is scheduled for today behind the Squadron now that YDL have finished the ship .
  13. Looks like an old Jim Young, there was a rotten one in the creek at Milford but that one looks in much better shape.

    Our Gulf

From Diving friends this year I am told that the crays were abundant and what we were fed on New Years at the Barrier would appear to bear that out. I too wish that Rangitoto and the inner gulf was still producing, but I believe that may be a vain hope with all the silt in close.
  17. Wow why would Beca waste all that time and money modelling what Panuku has told us will be gone very shortly ie the western entrance , shades of yes minister, the sad thing is that its our money they are flushing out with the ebb tide on a worthless report.
  18. I feel for BP on this one, and Puff is prob correct, its a bit late but it would pay to talk to some of the Hardstand workers around Auckland as BP is far from alone. Generally the application is not done that badly -its the result after a year that has people questioning the value of CC -particularly if you are not a planing launch and like your yacht to perform.
  19. Minimum depth is ankle deep across the bar but inside there are spots of 6'
  20. Quick get some Antifoul on BP its not far to Mahurangi
  21. KM is right inasmuch as the actions of the parties straght after the incident influenced the outcome, what was said etc etc.
  22. It is quite right to compare this to Fullers and the Antaeus crash, though it begs the question -what about the other equally serious launch crashes during this period also at night that no one told the media about?? And true KM the Antaeus one was very different circumstances - broad daylight etc etc

    Blue lights

Almost witnessed the same off Devonport on Christmas Eve, Line fishing boat anchored with everyone fishing, when another surveyed? vessel passes us heading straight for them all the fishos screaming pulled their rods in and the helmsman of the steaming vessel returns to his post and just manages to swerve down their side-real close. I am happy to be a witness for the anchored vessel , the one not under command lives at Westpark and a week later passed us going too fast on the wrong side of Manowar passage GBI.
