Not sure that I agree with you wheels, some of the older diesel additives have no biocide in them and are quite safe, warranty wise with your new diesel, they say that they have emulsifiers in them to carry the moisture through the diesel easier such as Diesel power, Groco or some such name . They also wont reduce the lubricity of the diesel as many of the biocides do. But preferably as already stated buy fuel from a high turnover outlet keep your tanks full and maintain good filtration before the engine.

Have experienced the same pre approval thingy at Tutukaka, annoying in this day and age that it does not sort itself in five minutes after the completed transaction. Be aware that Go-fuel at westhaven are treating their fuel with Biocide and advertise the fact as a plus!! No diesel manufacturer that I know of will recommend putting this in. Clean fuel is what they want not additives added to mask moisture in the fuel and kill the resultant bug. The fuel shops around Auckland know only too well the result of this dosing on injectors and injection pumps.

And for the PSS face seal type you can now get a collar to prevent it creeping on the shaft , and the spares kits are readily available

Yes and no mention of the square barnacles introduced to NZ from thenorth from the NRC, perhaps they should be giving boats a free clean before we come south from up there.

If a production European yacht is what you want then this is a great way to get it, as long as you can take the time off work. We all have the internet now so you wont make money come selling time, but the boat will have cost you a lot less upfront and if its the one you want then you wont be selling...

Nothing to fear as at the moment if you steer clear of marinas....

Pahi has been gone over from windex to lead in the last few years and is a credit to her owner, everything is new and sparkling including the "mahogany" prod to enable her to carry some extra RNI sails. Running Yanmar engine and Gori prop as were the first three over the line.

Most likely it is 303 or 304

Update on the race? We sailed in sunshine and moderate breeze for squadron final cruising race to Waiheke, so I was wondering how the Panmure boats went?
