CarpeDiem 512
So $1M+ of performance race catamaran floating towards the tropics for at least the next 10days at 1-2knots... Bet the insurance will be setting up a salvage operation for that...
Winter 42
650k worth apparently https://www.cityofsailsmarine.co.nz/multi-hull/50ft-carbon-cruiser-racer-catamaran

Might be the insured value tho... doubt that would change their desire to salvage it.
BNG 54
That is an awesome result. Go Navy!

I think stuff got confused. They couldn't understand why the navy were searching near bream head when the boat was at barrier...? Kind of confused me too and I wondered why they were searching so far west. Because although the Cat was last seen at the Chickens around 10am, by the time the Navy got there the winds had been sw for ~8 hours... I am completely sure they new what they were doing. When I saw the track this morning it crossed my mind if they were looking for another boatie... The navy have not put out any announcement about a second boat or a second rescue... CarpeDiem 512
I assume they use tugs to get in/out of Devonport wharf? Do they have their own or use POAL? I have never seen them leave or arrive. I see Te Mana is steaming towards Whangaparāoa at the moment. Hopefully not another incident.

She looks pretty junked up in the pic and maybe that is the reason the skipper pulled the plug and set off the beacon.
CarpeDiem 512
Haha. Seems I have reached the maximum number of likes allowed in a day. Tells me I need to go clean up the yard and get back to the outside world. Yeah. I hadn't looked closely, it does seem like she's going under.
Priscilla II 414
Yup, I’m off with Mr Stihl to clean up the ranch. Maybe now room for a marina down the back paddock.

Yea Im not sure, I watched the frigate come in last night and thought same thing as POAL was closed. The frigate turned around off Devonport and then want back out the channel. They must have known the port was closed. It was absolutely blowing its tits off when it came in. Can only think it came in to drop him off by rib, but also wondered why they came all the way in to do that. From when it came into the harbour to when it left was not very long, 30 minutes or so.
