  1. Hang on, I just choked on my coffee when you mentioned $22m a year in salaries, WTF? IVe now got to clean my keyboard and screen. How is this broken down?, How many people actually work for WH?
  2. Breaking news, now partially funded by the generous NZMYC. Log in with us via the FB page, turn up each night and participate in the prize giving and you are almost guaranteed to win a prize worth more than your first years worth of NZMYC membership*.
  3. Plan for our annual Easter, mk1. The usual circumnavigation of Waiheke starting friday. Based on the forecast we will decide the likely location of the first nights gathering mid next week. Next day we all go to bottom end of Waiheke for a quiet drink/BBQ. Final night and prize giving destination to be confirmed. BUT There has been some interest in a Friday race to Tekouma and then Saturday all head back to bottom end to meet up with the cruising boats. We are doing all the initial communication via the 8.5 Class Facebook page so go there for more ....or txt me. Sunday nights prize givin
  4. And have the drinks poured and ready...
  5. Potentially a starter subject to multiple things but more likely a contender for the "straight from the mooring to the finish line" division if there is need for a large after match gathering area.
  6. When on the mooring the VB has a full zipped on cockpit enclosure, within that space I have motion activated cameras in the cockpit which are both daylight and infra red image and record, can record a loop of about 5 days and it can also transmit stuff but Im still working in that bit. There is also a beam triggered alarm which sets of a 150 decibel siren which I am reliably told would be quite unpleasant to be hearin
  7. It's a customers Javelin
  8. The rest is up to you KM
  9. They are a bit late for O Week, that finished a week ago.
  10. That could be a voltage regulator, or something.
  11. PM me your email address I'll send you the file.
  12. We 3-D printed a couple for trials on Pulse and are waiting for a definitive answer as to the success.
  13. Has anyone tried one of these?? Interested in opinions on them as it could be a great addition. The specs say they make Ice 12Kg Per 24Hrs, have an Ice Making Current of 5.5A and an Ice Harvest Current: 6.4A (whatever that means). They are quite small 297W x 367D x 378H (mm)and only weigh 8.7kg.
  14. The current advert is via a broker.
  15. You will probably be needing to feed up the pigeons as well just to make sure comms stay working too.
  16. Yeah but the key to multis is not filling them up with sh*t that slows them down. If you've got lockers they just fill up with useless stuff. The clear exception to that rule of course is the drinks locker, that is allowed to get full and stay full for the inevitable raft ups. This would be a great SSANZ race boat, and/or an excellent cruising boat for a couple and would only need a crew of 3 to sail it to its max on races like the Coastal.
  17. The one on Trademe was Kupapa in a previous life and was raced with SSANZ extensively and also did a few Coastals with some respectful performances.. Was way quicker than the GBEs of the time, performance similar to the Turissimo 10 cats. If you look on the Newick website he claims they have done a lot of offshore miles,
  18. Our VHF kept asking for an MMSI number and I used the "Phone a friend" option, (a call to someone that issues them) and it was sorted for me and emailed through about 5 minutes later. But in the 3 years we have had the flash new network system all installed and running I have not actually used or even turned on the VHF, cant actually see the need for it to be perfectly honest as most comms are via phone. We had the rig out over last winter for a service and when lifting it out I discovered the cable joiner for the masthead aerial so corroded it fell apart when I tried to undo it so was utte
  19. I know of a Young 88 that could be had for $22K. Its a Roger Land built one that has a reasonably new rig and OK condition sails. The interior needs a b it of a tidy up but it's useable now. PM me if you are interested and I can arrange to show you.
  20. yeah but is he brave enough to try swimming from one side of westhaven to the other, double bonus points for a successful return.
