There’s a couple of areas missing from that map …Bombay hills and pukekohe have significant volcanic plateaus and cones . There’s also a volcanic plateau at Waimauku but I have no idea where the cone/s are . northland has two volcanic fields , one it a fairly straight line from glenbervie (near tutukaka) which passes through the north end of suburban Whangarei and heads west all the way to maunganui bluff at the top of baileys beach . the second one encompasses waitangi , kerikeri , waimate , kaihohe , with scattered cones all the any up to Kaeo so probably as large as Auckland’s fie

Sorry to add to your list of woes but the picture of the water bowl looked suspiciously like it had some diesel “bug” in it or it could just be a rust stain ? I had a year of pain with my bulldozer and the bug so would highly recommend putting some biocide in the fuel tank to be sure .

So I wonder if this will be done at marsden point ? Adding value to an imported product ? I did read about the possible scenarios awhile back when they announced they were ceasing refining. I think there were several things they were pursuing ….hydrogen plant , biofuel plant , solar farm etc

Thanks for that …not such an issue for yachties with smaller engines and amounts of fuel . Gonna be a few headaches for the tinnie crowd though with bigger engines and tanks

The American outboard forums are full of ways around it but I’ve never really taken any notice as I’ve been searching for other “problems” with my motors . thanks for the heads up I will be spending a bit of time looking up the issues with ethanol and outboards

An interesting trend at our club is women coming to the learn to sail programme then moving on to crewing on race boats and usually joining the club as full time members we have new to sailing men turn up with new boats (trailer yachts ) some do one or two learn to sail days then have at it . Some then have big frights and sell the boat or it just sits in the yard for awhile and gets sold , only one or two keep the boats and use them .

And after a quick search the only product available from the test is LPS3 in NZ CRC USA seems to have many products that aren’t available here or in Australia where our stuff seems to come from.
