  1. Leave the door closed until the steam is cool. Then open the door and make sure the room is ventilated. They don't stay damp and the evaporation is more gradual.
  2. Does lubrication with water or oil make a difference?
  3. I had a related problem on my Parkercraft too. Not fixed yet. If you find out I'd love to know.
  4. Simple. I've been doing it. Anyone else? https://www.nzgeo.com/stories/how-to-fix-the-hauraki-gulf/
  5. Guy at the end running on deck unharnessed.
  6. Whatever you think of the Chinese government It's incredibly offensive and racist to say China would be thinking solely of "the economy". And anyway, there is no such thing as "the economy" - it's an intellectual construct, not a real thing. https://kmccready.wordpress.com/2014/02/18/open-letter-to-colin-james-cc-rod-oram/
  7. 1. "The Economy" is not a thing. https://kmccready.wordpress.com/2014/02/18/open-letter-to-colin-james-cc-rod-oram/ The world, COVID or not, is a place of abundance. If we share our toys nicely everyone benefits. COVID provides us with a wonderful opportunity to reset how we run the world. Big improvements for the majority are possible if we have the political will to make them and the intellectual honesty to reassess our notions of how the world should run. 2. If you want to speak on behalf of disabled people and you're not disabled you should be very very careful. In particula
  8. I support Aleana re his Coastguard post and was considering a similar post. I don't mind legitimate criticism with facts and figures, but smears and generalisations I don't like. Aleana said it better than I was going to.
  9. That's a false comparison and therefore false conclusion; heaps more people bike, walk or ran than sail. I'd be happier if everyone chilled and stopped thinking of ways to get around the rules.
  10. Your comment is out of line and I've reported it. We don't need racism in NZ, or anywhere. #givenothingtoracism
  11. My feeling, subject to being corrected, is there is less need the smaller the boat. I wouldn't bother on my 30 footer. They've been great on a bigger boat though.
  12. There's a guy who's been mucking around similarly with a boat for months at Karaka Bay Auckland (telling tall stories to the locals too). Is this the same jason/rudolf?
  13. And the essential supplies were, if you don't mind saying?

  16. I picked this up in front of a building site near Kohimarama Yacht Club. I'm intrigued why someone might want to thread twine through a rope casing. Any ideas?
  17. The quick release on my old 1.8 m whisker pole is frozen shut. I think the pin is slightly bent. You are welcome to it.
  18. You should get a replacement or refund. It has to be "fit for purpose." Don't let them BS you about 12 month warranty.
  19. So let me get this straight. You torture a beautiful animal for your "fun", then you release it. And that's somehow ok? And HT if someone abuses you and you let it upset you then they've won. Think yappy little dog. https://kmccready.wordpress.com/2017/02/18/dog-controls-angry-human/
  20. It's not too late. Have you reported him yet?
  21. Now that I can, I love sailing on and off the anchor. The looks on some yachties faces is fun, especially the ones who only seem to sail once a year. Speaking of anchors, mine got wedged in rocks close to the ramp at Izzy Bay the other day. I eventually got it free but not without a worry. Does anyone know how far the rocks go out from the ramp?
  22. You don't have to go thermonuclear. Just hope in the dinghy and have a chat.
  23. Perhaps lodging a bond which would cover disposal might be an idea. Forcing insurance would just mean premiums go up.
  24. There's no way I'd pay to read anything in the Herald.
