Savusavu stock up day. Fantastic sail from macogai yesterday, 40 miles ...5 hours dead, which is nice for an old 'fast cruiser'.

Did the 200 plus litre Jerry can duckwalk, a few cases of fiji gold , drugs for the sevusevu and a bit of market and supermarket stuff. Overcast and muggy, it's not the old savusavu. Half the moorings gone so they can build the mega marina housing development on the island.

Mast out of boat, standing rigging at NSR for replacements. Mast and boom fittings stripped, cleaned and repaired. Chainplate out for inspection, primer on ready for touchup paint.

Fitted a pressure buffer tank and a carbon filter. Sealed the tiny gaps in the galley bench. Fixed a leaking watermaker. Attached the carvings and markings plaque, bought a crew set of inflatable life jackets and harnesses, and took a newbie on a 5 day cruise: now hooked :).

Went for a cruise in Brittany. Found a nice little bay sheltered from all weather except the prevailing, lol.

Scored a permanent marina berth in Brest: 12-15 month waiting list ... took us 7 weeks... not sure how that happened but happy to hand over the €2350.

Slightly more than a weekend’s achievement but close enough. Photos to come ...

And there's 63 feet of it.!!!!

Another reason I went with plastic instead of plywood...

But my achievement of the weekend is finally rigging and finishing my modified Welsford Rogue...

Photos tomorrow

Count your blessings BP.

If it was a modern yacht you would not sleep at all too well not knowing what is going on behind the vinyl head lining and the impossible to access hull.

20 years from now if you pop your mortal coil get the whanau to chuck around a few velvet cushions and do a broad reach to Valhalla in style.
