Marine farms in the Firth,

They are still on the cards "Otto" and will be a reality soon,if you are talking about fish pens

Can someone please explain why there is a big launch still up on the landing and where has the RAYC gone to. Was down there today and all I saw was a building with big signage saying Marine centre.

The launch is awaiting parts to complete a re-engine. Then presumably back in the drink. Been there a while.

"where has the RAYC gone"

Are we serious, perhaps you should do some research such as why the areas set aside for boat storage are now a restaurant and restaurant storage.  Maybe that's why the RAYC wants some boat storage now.

Very little mention of the once proud Royal Akarana Yacht club , still thats the way they chose to run it into the ground, perhaps the squadron should take on the emmies -store them in the Vic building and bury Akkers .

The Squady had the "m" before the aks took them over, not sure what the reason was.. Use to race Saturday 1.00pm with a fleet of 10 most of the time.

Might of had something to do with squady new premises and "Ms" couldnt be arsed getting out of wet gear.

recieved today as in a f/b advert from ayba

FUNDING WILL DICTATE OUR ACTIONS
This is crunch week for the Auckland Yachting & Boating Association who are striving on your behalf to protect these facilities!
We have to make a decision by Friday whether we continue fighting on your behalf for:
A. THE RETENTION OF THE HARD STAND & HAULOUT AREA AT OKAHU BAY:
• We have already overspent our legal budget.
• We cannot continue without the funds!
• Once lost there can be no replacement!

Did she mean she has been listening to the Akaranas plans and vision for the  hardstand.

Which community are they listening to?

the feedback form raises the possibility of retaining a handstand here.

Council must have noticed some angst about it to re include it as a possibility.

Please take 5mins to do their survey.

After looking at the plan, I really don't understand what the reason behind this and why they are proposing a PPP.

Also if the council can't afford it then the easiest and most practical option is just to leave it pretty much as is.  For a fraction of the proposed cost  they could achieve the bulk of their objectives  instead of turning it into a glorified car park.
