vesper1 3
NZYF are no longer doing cat one for offshore See excerpt below from briefings. Who knows where this will lead !! This means that, from July 1, 2024, Yachting New Zealand will no longer manage the safety inspection system for recreational craft and their crew departing overseas. This function will instead be performed by Maritime New Zealand and follows months of discussions with the regulatory body and various other stakeholders. We believe the system requires more active management and that Maritime New Zealand is better equipped to do this in future.
Guest 109
Define "more active management". Does the number of unsatisfactory outcomes of current Cat 1 boats to overseas registered non-Cat 1 boats warrant this "more active management"? Not mentioning todays infinitely better forcasting and comms. Or does YNZ just not want to be involved, preferring MNZ wields the big stick.
Ex Machina 384
Fervently hoping one or more inspectors stay on in northland for raceboat inspections , hell any of the regions outside of Auckland for that matter .
