  1. Another worthless bylaw that is never enforced.
  2. The stub keel was standard. The centre plate was to be unballasted so that raised or lowered it did not affect stability. Ballast was 408kg, weight on trailer 1610kg. Draws .61 with keel up and 1.54 with keel down. Designed by Alan Wright. Same as any boat of that age. If it has been well maintained there is no reason it won't last a good few years more. If it needs a lot of work it will cost more than you think. Best to buy a good one and just go sailing.
  3. I might agree with you Lateral if it wasn't for the fact he has tried to flick several boats in dubious condition. Knowingly trading in boats like that is not ok.
  4. This guys antics need to be brought to the general public's attention.
  5. Metvuw not looking too bad either.
  6. Never used to take my summer leave until mid Jan as generally more settled weather. Nothing that unusual about the present weather pattern.
  7. He may have changed the boat name, in which case it may be hard to trace.
  8. Mercury Bay area for us and maybe barrier later on. Merry Christmas everyone.
  9. Neither of us could recall how many.
  10. Been there done that. Now i never ease tension when furling.
  11. Used to be a photo in the Panmure yacht and boating club of a large number of Raven 26s rafted up like that up at Kawau. Having a beer with a past Commodore tonight so will ask how many boats. You could pick John Bennets boat by the wheel steer wheel at the top of the mast. Someone took it off and hoisted it up there and poor old John couldn't find it. Left the raftup steering with a crescent spanner.

I have a Waeco CFX 35 on board and it seems to work well.
  13. Dry Glide for me. Also use it on my Genoa car tracks and main traveler.
  14. I have a Lotus 9.2 and I get 2 coats out of 4 ltr tin with a little left over for leading edges and the bottom of the keel.
  15. Heard of a bit of that when i was working as a broker down there. That was a lot of sunsets ago. Rumfog dulls the memory.
  16. Had an old Aquapro about 12 years ago and everything was falling off it before it was even out of warranty. Only got fixed after some heated exchanges, Bought a NZ made Aquapro rigid bottom about 3 years ago and am very happy with it.
  17. How dare a couple of boomers come up with a good idea.
  18. Agree with fish. I've been down that track a couple of years ago. Rebuilt still has all the old bits hanging off the side. I went for new for peace of mind. In the end it wasn't a great deal more expensive than a rebuild plus I have a 5 year warranty.
  19. Maybe contact the Yanmar agents and see what props they recommend. I have a 3 blade folding Volvo prop on my 9.2 and have very little prop walk.
  20. My mistake. Thought it was this weekend.
  21. Any finishers yet. Would be tough coming back up to Colville and not pleasant in the channel.
  22. I think some in the 60+ age group may be shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted.
  23. Shouldn't this be in small talk?
