Few people are bit upset with this, what a way to kill long term regattas and general sailing numbers. Dilutes sailing pretty quick with this sort of action
-
Feedback was that people wanted a longer race week, just got into the groove then the week was over, as well as more races.

Having working for a National Yachting Body (Not Yachting NZ but overseas) the coach boat assets are quite often owned and operated by a seperate identity, not the same as club services etc. I'm not sure if this is the case for YNZ. Most don't lend out boats as where do you draw the line and whom do you say no to? It can get hugely political if it goes the other way as well

Borrowed boats? I thought both boats are pretty well campaigned teams, Caro in particular

Does anyone here have a Mercury 2.5hp around home they no longer need? It’s ok if not running as I’m looking for parts

What size berth do you have? The one I’m renting is becoming potentially unavailable

What weather problems? Light wind?

Perhaps the idea of paying to race needs to be looked at. This is the 2nd fatality on a paid punters race boat in 3-months. it’s a nice idea that punters can pay to say they have done a Hobart etc but at what price

Does anyone have their Westhaven berth free on the 9th November by any chance? Needed for the day only from 10am - 11pm approx. For a Young 88, full insurance etc. happy to offer rum for the use

I have a NMEA 2000 DST810 which fits the 800 skin fitting, your welcome to borrow it for the coastal if it helps, as I won't be using the boat over the labour weekend
-
RNZYS sent a message to members that they can't access the club unless they have purchased a limited number ticket.

LP plastics will custom make these in small quantities, great service

I have a Young 2.8

Hall Spars now have all the matrix mast details, drawings etc, be worth giving them a call!

Depends on how heavy your boom tent is, we have sunbrella material and very heavy duty and requires big batterns, no way would tent poles work for this
-
Looks like it might have had the latex primer which fails over time due to UV. as someone who previously managed a boat painting company, a lot of your questions depend on your chosen paint system as can vary quite a bit. Do you have a system in mind?

Rupes have a DA, quite expensive. How long do you need it for?

‘No business was found whom could operate the hardstand feasibly for 6months of the year, so we have decided to keep it as a carpark all year round for RAYC users’ Can see this coming very quickly. Costs too much to train staff, own equipment etc for 6 months per year in a commercial environment

Awlgrip is one of these paints which can’t be cut and polished/easily touched up. Awlcraft 2000 and SE are able to be cut and polished
-
And all boats including the 18ft skiffs and flying elevens are required to have a VHF capable of operating on VHF 17/77

I'm not sure you can even get insurance for Waiake Beach
-
Maybe give it a bit of time, only happened late Friday/early Saturday. The boat was a well known boat, and still doing reports etc

New Zealand doesn't have the resources in place for enforcing compliance, the Waikato Harbour master must be dreaming if his small team could be out enforcing licensing as well. NSW has 16 maritime boats on Sydney Harbour alone! Auckland harbour master is lucky to have one boat on the water on a Sunday
